As far as I'm aware you need DLA Or Pip but I'm sure you get get if you are suffering from cancer. Have a look on lymphomas.org.uk/sites/defa...

As I'm not sure how it works for cancer suffers x

Blue badge is how it affects mobility for example you may have a lung conditoon that makes you breathless hence you cant walk far

Blue badges are issued by local councils nothing to do with benefits you have go to the dr explain that you want to apply ask them if you can put their name on form as it the the dr signs the form the reason I say to ask dr is because in this day and age of heath centre they an administrator you can find application form on line search local council and put in blue badge you need to upload a picture so be prepared good luck Karen xx

Hi I agree with cowren, you don't have to be in receipt of benefits to apply for a blue badge. My neighbour has one and she certainly isn't in receipt of benefits. As cowren also correctly says, your doctor has to sign the form, and do make sure that it gets to the person concerned's own doctor.

When you fill the forms in do not do them as if it is a good day. Do it as if they are bad days because that is when you need it the most. Most will ask for your medical conditions so make sure you put all of them on. I had a Blue Badge a long time before I made a claim for support. anything from your doctors or consultants should be copied and sent as extra evidence.

Good Luck

You don't need to be in receipt of dla to get a blue badge, well in Scotland it's ur local council that issues them and your GP fills in part of it, then they decide if you get it obviously if your in receipt of dla it helps, but not the only way to get it.

Blue badges are issued for people with limited mobility and as a sufferer of breast cancer ( also in remission ) I doubt very much if your friend would be considered for a badge. There has been a crack down in dispensing these so freely since they are being abused on a regular basis and I have been told that councils are issuing fines for misuse quite regularly.

Im sorry you have it to.Do you think getting out of breath is a reason to get one for her .It has been nearly 2yrs since her diagnoses , or is it 5yrs to be classed in remission , do you get dla ? Millie
