Hi husky, sorry that you're having a bad time, but it does sound like you may have been lucky and found a doctor who has a good understanding of Fibro rather than many who are so dismissive ! I haven't heard of italk either, so if you find what it is, it would be very good to hear what you think of it, and hope it helps you.

sending positive healing vibes your way :-)

Fingers crossed that you have. I like my gp's but I'm not convinced they understand. Hang in there a bit longer.

Mmm!!! Just googled italk this what they say on their home page

italk provides access to psychological therapies for people in Eastleigh, Fareham, Gosport, Havant, New Forest, Test Valley and Winchester. From December 2013 we will be developing into the further areas of Basingstoke, Petersfield and Bordon.

Not sure if this is the correct path your GP should be sending you on.

I talk is ok but I suspect you will need more than that .My daughter in law does that for a job and if I had gone to that she would have seen me ,didn't like that idea even though I love her .Dont get on opiates its taken me five years to get down to one and a half from four not easy .Good luck hoping you get all the help you need ,my doc has no clue at all .x

I only take Amitriptyline at night, Lyrica day and night. Amitriptyline will definitely make you foggy if you take during the day - is that when you took them?

Seems to me, sorry hi Husky, that this is a stop gap whilst your doctor has some time to get things right. Having someone to talk to when you are feeling emotional, when you need to, is very important. Do give it a go. However, could I suggest you also take this time to write down exactly what your problems are? This helped my doctor a lot, and not being medical I have no idea what was important to say and what wasn't. Start from the tip of your toes to the top of your head. Include any skin and sleep or emotional problems and keep a copy. Give this to your doctor, before your next visit if you can, and take someone who knows you with you. That should help you stay focused and less emotional, and also your friend can fill in any gaps for the doctor and yourself. Anything to do with your medical life, take someone for support. If you can't, ask if you can record the conversation to help your memory.

Years ago, after my second child, I went through depression and sadly took it out on my family. It scared me so much I told my Health Visitor, who passed me onto my doctor within 30 minutes! [Same building]. He gave me anti depressants and told me to note everything down that I thought may have made a pattern. I did, found a pattern and was then able to come off anti depressants and onto hormone therapy. Anti depressants take 6 weeks to work! But I felt better immediately because someone had listened and given me something constructive to do. The point I am trying to make is sometimes being given something else to focus on allows us to think straight.

Your doctor saw an emotional woman, accepted there may be more to what you were saying and is giving you both time to sort it out. Seems you have a gem there - I hope so. Make the calls, talk to iTalk and make the notes I have suggested too. Take your friend or family member with you next time. You will be more prepared, calmer, more able to talk things through. I am also guessing that your body is giving you nightmares because you are not coping. No shame in that. Well done in seeing your doctor. I have high hopes for you.

Sorry for such a long message. I hope you can see I am trying to be supportive, not critical? By the way, if things don't work out, ask for a second opinion or another doctor, okay? All the best.

Soft hugs
