I think its attendance allowance

Hi

Over 65 you can try and claim attendance allowance, it is similar to DLA in some respects but there is no mobility components and you will not be entitled to a car like you are if you get higher rate mobility.

Can I ask if you have had help filling in your forms from either citizen's advice or welfare rights? If not it would be worth your while trying them because you generally stand an improved chance of success if you get help. This will also be true of attendance allowance. They know what the DWP are looking for and how to word the forms.

Even though you're only 64 give age concern a call. They were really good with my Mum and Dad. My Mum needed help and support from my Dad, they were really helpful in terms of filling in forms and contacting different departments on my Dad's behalf.

Good luck with everything.

i was adviced to see welfare rights to assist with application, the woman pointed to this paragraph and she wasnt helpful at all ......As much as they would like to, the Welfare Rights Team cannot always meet the demand for such requests and will usually encourage people who need help with 'form filling' to do it themselves if at all possible - it is the claimant's application and the claimaint has to sign to say that the information they have provided is accurate and complete.
