Hi everyone I just wanted to ask something..

do you find that your mood is affected and you are now given to angry outbursts over rubbish things? That your anger is totaly disproportionate to what is happening.

Hi Jayne - a lot of us experience this. It's a fairly standard reaction to feeling tired and in pain, so I wouldn't worry about it.

The main thing is to concentrate on keeping yourself as rested and pain-free as possible, then automatically your temper will be sweeter!

Thank you ladymoth and shar0805 I appreciate your comments, nice to know I am not going mad. I think the problem is that I cannot rest and do far too much which means I struggle to cope and then ....... shout!

Yes I do, but really only if I over do it and don't rest or am in pain. If I pace myself and take it easy I am in better form...most of the time :P

I am learning to pace myself but some morning I am very short with my responces and OH stays well clear :) never for long xgins

My daughter has just come home from uni but I'm going through a major flare & been off work for 4 months, she is so lazy, asked her do do one thing that I couldn't do knowing it would hurt for a good few days, so in temper I did it, I swore & shouted A LOT & now I'm snapping at everyone, all they need to do is eat a packet of crisps & I go grumpy, well all they need to do is breath! Lol it's sad & we all are guilty of this I think, it's when we're tired & feeling low, don't worry but try to see why your doing it before you snap, not always possible though.

I am a very positive person and yet I get grumpy and short tempered and get upset and angry over silly things. I defy anyone who lives in constant pain with our difficulties not to get the grumps occasionally.

For me standing in a que is terribly painful and I do tend to kick off in this situation.

I feel that I am far more assertive since having fibro. I used to be laid back and not worry too much about anything, not so laid back any more. I find that people in general can irritate me more than ever before.

So please don't worry, it all seems to be a part of fibro as Moffy said it's a reaction to the tiredness and pain. Take care of yourself. Becky. X

Hi Jayne, when I saw your question I just wanted to laugh, but I didn't. This is me to a T since having fibro. Yesterday, I lost the plot so badily that my OH asked me if I still wanted him to stay or go. I just couldn't stop crying, the fact that I have made him feel so bad and unwanted coz of my terrible behaviour. I hate how I have changed. Admittedly, at mo I am decreasing my antidepressants and hopefully start new ones on Friday. My friends say it is not me, but my illness. Hopefully, I will improve soon. Jus hope that my blood pressure doesn't go shooting up like last time and had to come off cold turkey immediately for my own safety, risk of stroke, etc. We are all affected my the mood swings, pain, fatigue and meds. Huge HUGS :-)

Oh thank you to everyone, so nice of you to share your experiances with me, I have genuinely thought I am loosing my mind, and that my kids and OH would be better off without me. I hate myself for my outbursts, but think it does stem from not coping and I am not great at crying, although think this may be better for everyones ears if I did. I did read somwhere that if you have adrenal gland probs and mine are not working great at all , that this can make you more 'angry'. I also think that its because I know that those around me dont really understand my condition and this makes me feel .... well, lonely. This site has been valuable me. I have tried anti depressents but find I tend to badly react to them they incease my level of anxiety and I develop globus (feels like a tennis ball stuck in my throat). I think I do need a pick me up tho ... :)
