Keep a food diary and follow any symptoms, after a few weeks a pattern should appear, for me wheat, chocolate and coffee in particular, keep to fresh food deffinately avoid convenience and processed food for sure, also see if you have any connection with symptoms with milk/dairy which can be another possible sensitivity. go see your Dr and ask to be passed to a dietition or nutritionist as you need professional advice and support but deffinately make a food diary and you'll be suprised how it can help :-) need anymore advice happy to help with recipes :-)

xx

I recommend the information provided by Heather Van Vorous (a FibroAction PAB member) in 'Eating for IBS' and 'The First Year: IBS' as it is evidence based and not a quck diet. The books are often in libraries or much of the information is freely available on helpforibs.com.

Knowing whether you have any food intolerances is very important. A food diary (as BlueBunny suggested) and following that up with an exclusion diet is a sensible idea. Food intolerances can be masked by Fibro and IBS or even mis-diagnosed as them.

There isn't a special diet for Fibro other than trying to eat healthily with a generally low GI diet to maximise energy levels. For IBS, how you eat is as important as what you eat, though there are common trigger foods.

I think the food diary is a great idea. Don't suffer with IBS myself, but I do avoid anything with MSG and also caffine (tea, coffee, chocolate etc) as it tends to flare up my Fibro. Hope this helps you x

hi i would recoment a dietishion they are often baist in doctors or you can have a refural. if you can while you wait the food diary is a great ideas.. it helps when you go to Gp but its not advisable to cut out food without medical advice xx
