Hi, I'm new here and I am a 33 yo, trying to conceive for 2 years... I know is not as much as some people struggle too but this has been incredibly hard for me. I've always thought it would be something easy, I don't have any health issues, I don't smoke, drink or ever used any substances that could make this process difficult so it has been quite hard to understand and to be confronted with what feels like a failure every month. I have tried Clomid (awful experience for me) and tamoxifen and will now be referred to IVF IF my next blood tests come out alright. Although I feel somehow hopeful with IVF I am a little afraid of how the preparation period will affect me, especially considering the bad time I had with the lower dose of Clomid and with my doctor saying IFV envolves even more hormones... I would be lovely to hear about your experiences with IVf and how you find coping with all this process.

Thank you,

AD

Hey, I can understand how difficult it can be. You're probably suffering through unexplained infertility. This is the most common reason for infertility in many people. I think you should visit another doctor for your treatment. Just to ask as to why didn't Clomid work for you. It is sometimes important to take the second opinion. Make sure to visit a doctor with a high success rate. Someone who is experienced in this field. Your concerns are correct regarding IVF. My sister who just went through IVF, I was with her during the entire process. You have to take a lot of medication every day. Have to inject 3 shots every day. These shots cause a shift in your hormonal levels quite frequently. So I think you should ask your doctor again about it. Other than that IVF does have a high success rate as it did work for my sister.

Hi has your partner been checked?

Yes, everything is fine with him. Since I last wrote I found out I have a low egg reserve...I’m allowed to repeat the blood tests just to see if the values change but I traveled to thailand recently so even if the values are better they won’t refer me to ivf before February ... right now I’m honestly temped to ask the hospital to close my file and just apply to adoption... just need to make sure I’m ready for it...

Have you tries DHEA? Ive had 2 mmc and have just started taking it if Im suppose to or not obv if my cycles change or have major side affects Id stop. It is suppose to help women with low egg reserve, Im taking ubquinol too to boost egg quality. Got to take it for 3 months the time an egg takes to mature. It might help! There quite a few posts on the fertility forum about it and Ive watched a few vids on youtube.

I did order some ubquinol and also read about DHEA but was afraid to jump into it as I did have some really bad side effects when I was on Clomid and it also made me struggle with work... let me know how you get along with it (if you remember )
