How do I know if this is my period?

So I had a miscarriage bleeding started 4 weeks ago for 7 days. Spotted for about 12 days. Bleeding stopped for 3 days now I have what feels like my period. They said the last bit of 5 mm tissue could pass out with the period... Which it definitely did today. I can start trying after one period ... Not sure if I can now as I am eager but want to be sensible ..... Any experiences would help.
