Failed FET

Hello everyone,

Friday i got the terrible news that my FET didn't take. I was wondering how long after a failed medicated FET are my periods going to start?

My previous 3 transfers were fresh, this was my first FET.

Hi Leii9! Sorry to hear of your loss. That's what it is, a terrible loss so give yourself time to process everything.With my failed FET, I checked there and got my period 17dp5dt. So just 3 days after my OTD. Pretty similar to my failed fresh transfers. Best of luck ahead with the rest of your fertility journey.x

I am very sorry this didn't work, sending you strength at this awful time!

In my last failed FET I had a period just a few days after stoping the medication. then returned t my normal cycle as usually the following month x

Sorry to hear this Leii9 . I’ve just had my first FET which I think has failed too as I have been very very lightly bleeding every day bar one since. Everyone’s responses are helpful as the clinics don’t tell you what to expect with periods do they, just send you off packing as if you’ll definitely get pregnancy. Hope it all works out for you x

Hi, when was your FET? Did you do it on a natural cycle? Yes, the clinics don't tell you anything unfortunately,

It was on Tuesday. I did it running my natural cycle but with added progesterone. Due period Tuesday. Hoped it could be implantation bleeding at first but gone on too long now and neg preg test too. Hope your cycle gets back on track soon X

Im sorry about your neg test My period started this morning.

I am now trying to decide if i should try again on my next cycle in February or wait. I am unfortunately limited with time as in Belgium the age limit is 42 and i will turn 42 in October, i have 3 tries left with my health insurance, so need to do all of them before October.

We have the same day when i have negative pt, it really break my heart. Im coping up with my 3rd failed ivf. And in my 2nd cycle. I just had my period today and its raily painful i hqve my menstration after 3 days and its not a heavy period. We will call the clinic later, because in my previous 2 fqiled Fet my menatration is normal, so will ask some questions qbout it..i will let you know then. But now Im really suffering from headache, backpain, pelvic pain and i was not qble to sleep well. I assume its all about the progeatetone i been taking 3x a day. I have crinone morning and night and in the middle of the day 2x cylogest..i still dont know why it didnt work out😢😢😢😭😭😭😭..However i look forwaed on our last 3rd cycle. And me and my husbqnd decide if it will not work the baby we dream will be just a dream😢..sad to say mqybe God have other plan...im still very sad...😭😢..

Hi, im so sorry My periods started this morning, it's a heavy period and very painful as well. I stopped taking all medication Friday as soon as i got my negative results. This is my 4th failed transfer, i also don't understand why, it is all very difficult in the body and the mind. I am trying to decide if i should do another try on my next cycle in February, but just the thought of it is weighing heavy.

Hi lei9,We call the clinic yesterday, they also want to start on feb ruary, however me and my husband told them will take a break and atart the medicatio. Around April-May. I still am sad and cry when i speak about my failed transfer. Good thing only 1 friend and my husband family know...its pressured cause this is mg last cycle and chance.. And as we discuss with my husband its about nature and God. If this upcomming cycle will not work, it will be the last and will just be open that its not for us😭😢.

I am so sorry, i know how difficult it is. Is your next try a FET? I have no embryos left so i have to start all over again, from all my attempts i only had one embryo frozen.

I will be starting with my next cycle even though i would prefer a little break but i don't have the option of a break

I haven't told anyone either, and i am single so doing this alone

At my first ivf cycle i have 6 eggs however only 2 eggs where good but it didnt implant it was the frist transfered was Agust, then the 2nd one was September 2022

Last December I have my 2nd ivf cycle i have 9 egg, 5 where matured, 3 where fertilized but only 1 was turn out ok..and it didnt work too😭😢...it was just recently january 20 2023.

So this year again i will start my 3rd cycle of ivf, all the painful procesd and injection, we will start all iver. I been crying alot. We did eveeything..i have uterus pirmung or scratching, and i have done accupunture and taking prenatal vitamins folic acid, vitaminD with Calcuim. In this last ivf cycle i dont know what to do to make it work😢. My husband was crying alot too. Andtoo, But we need to move on and prepare again. I just need a strength to keep going, good thing my husband is very supportive and patient on this project😢.

Hi, did you have a normal period? Mine started yesterday and i have never bled so much, and it is extremely painful as well

It was heavy and painful both times, but to be honest I suffer with that most months 😬. Sorry you are having such a tough time. X

It was very painful the 2nd day, the blood want ro go out my pelvic and seem my but will dettach from me. I never felt anything as painful menstration. I dont have any symptoms when i got my pwriod even in my first and 2nd fet. But after 3rd fet i felt it.

Yes, i am in so much pain, like you described, my whole pelvic area feels like I've been beaten up This was my first FET, the other times were fresh transfers, so had normal periods with those.

I feel i found a friend like tou here, who feels the same as iam..let me know ..on how we start and make the next ivf successful. I been reading alot now. I did not stop my vitamins my folic and vitamin D, and decide to take my prenatal vitamin next week.

By the way Lei which country are you from.Im original from.Philippines, my Husband is a Danish fr9m Denmark.

However we live in Greenland because we both work from Greenland. My clinic is in Denmark.

I live in Italy but my clinic is in Belgium, i lived there for 7 years so i decided to do it there, also in Italy you are not allowed to do ivf if you are single ;( Yes , it is comforting to find people thar understand what you are going through.

I only take folic, my doctor told me that my body should give me all i need naturally. Im not sure if that is good advice or not.
