I got my bfp after my first FET transfer, however when I reached 6 weeks i started spotting fresh blood with a couple of clots. Went in for a scan and they couldn't see a heartbeat (may be to early), measuring 5wk 5 days and the sac looked 'abnormal'. I was told to continue with the progesterone and expect to misscarry.
I am now 6wk 5days and I haven't had any further bleeding since that first day. I have another scan booked for tomorrow but just wondering can the progesterone delay the bleeding from the miscarriage?

Wait for your scan before you decide on next steps. It may be possible that the embryo has caught up. Fingers crossed for you. 💕🤞🍀
In my case, I had that issue on my first MMC. I was 5 weeks and the sac was empty. They asked me to continue progestrone and scheduled a scan at 6 weeks. No growth in the 6th week as well and then even after discontinuing progrestone, nothing happened. I had surgery around 8 weeks for the MMC.
Progesterone stops the uterus lining breaking down so even if the pregnancy is not developing you might well not bleed until you stop taking it. However, sometimes even with a natural pregnancy the fetus will stop developing but you don't bleed immediately. When it happened to me earlier this year I waited over 3 weeks for bleeding to start and I've heard others have waited up to 30 days.I hope this is all academic and things are looking better on your next scan. Six weeks is borderline whether you'll see a heartbeat or not and just a few days can make a difference in being able to see it. Sending you big hugs xxx
Crossing my fingers that you get good news tomorrow. To be honest it can either way. I have had missed miscarriages but also I have miscarried despite being on progesterone. Heaps of luck x
I am sorry you are in the limbo. It is so stressful
Yes, progesterone can delay the miscarriage, but it might also very well be that you don't have a miscarriage, just a slow starter. It can be the baby implanted a couple of days later and that is why it was 5+5 when it was supposed to be 6 weeks. They cannot always detect heart beat before 6 weeks (that is why they don't officially diagnose a miscarriage immediately if embryo is measuring below 7 weeks without a heart beat, they only do it if it then hasn't grown over one week).
The progesterone isn't everything. I had a MMC with one of my spontaneous pregnancies, and even though I usually have very low progesterone, it took 6 weeks from when the baby stopped growing until the miscarriage actually started. Hopefully this will not be the case for you and fingers crossed you get better news at your next scan!!
I’m so sorry this is happening to you. I had similar thing went in at 6w5 saw empty sac. My whole world fell apart. Was told to wait one week continue meds and at 7w3d my miracle was there with a heart beat. Don’t loose hope! I’m praying for a positive outcome xx
As others have said don't give up hope just yet as it may just be too early. On progesterone and delaying though, I had two losses in a row around a similar time after fresh transfers - the first I had no bleeding or spotting and it was the HCG not rising that showed something wasn't right, and the second one I spotted quite early. I was on the same amount of cyclogest each time. So I think you can have different experiences even on the same or any meds. I didn't get a 'proper' bleed either time until I stopped the meds completely but only did that once my clinic was comfortable there was no viable pregnancy (the second time it took quite a while for the HCG to decrease so they asked me to keep on them for longer). I really hope it works out for you ☘️
Thanks so much for all the lovely comments. The thing that worries me the most is the 'abnormal sac' so I'm not very hopeful. Will update after the scan today x
Update in case anyone is trying to find answers in a similar situation - Had my scan and everything was fine! The bleed was due to implantation haemorrhage
