Has anyone had either of these? I’m thinking the EmbryoScratch will be like the NK test that I had at UHCW? Embryoscope looks interesting and I get that it’s still being researched but would like to know if anyone else has had either of these. Thank you 😘😘😘

EmbryoScratch &Embryoscope
Hey there. I’ve had both of those on different cycles and unfortunately it didn’t work for me. I think the add ons are ok if you don’t mind the cost and would like to try everything but they don’t seem to be necessary for many. Good luck with whatever you decide xx
Hi Judith, These are the two things we are trying in our 3rd round. My understanding is the embroyoscope will give more understanding on the development of the embryos. We aren't sure if we will do a 4th Round so not sure how useful it will be. I have had 2 transfers so far one each round and neither stuck so thought the scratch might help. These are both orange on the HEFA website. Our 3rd round is on the NHS so the extras are a cost we can manage this time. Also there isn't a lot we can do so these two add ons and changing one drug and vitamins are our Hope!!! Good luck with your round. 💜
Hi Judith. My clinic used an embryo scope on my third cycle. It wasn’t included as an add—on, the clinic had bought it in between my second and third rounds and were using it with all of their patients in the hope of seeing improved pregnancy rates. I’m not sure I would have paid extra for it because the evidence on the benefits doesn’t seem super strong, but I was really glad it was being used because in previous cycles we struggled to get anything to blastocyst and I’ve heard that when embryos are left undisturbed as they are with the embryoscope, they might develop better. In previous cycles we only had one or two blastocysts or average/poor quality, so there was never any difficulty for the embryologist in picking which to transfer. On the third cycle we got four blastocysts and 3 were good quality (4BA or 4AB). I doubt that the improvement was entirely down to the embryoscope being used as we did change some other things that cycle too, but it certainly didn’t hurt. The embryologist decided which of our 3 well-graded embryos to transfer based on what he’d observed of their development using the embryoscope and I got my first BFP ever after two failed transfers in the previous cycles. I’m now 13 weeks. So I definitely think the embryoscope can help them pick a good embryo to transfer if you end up with a few to choose from. It’s always difficult to know if these things are worth it as there are so many variables and you never know what really made a difference, but I think it might be worth a go. Good luck with your cycle whatever you decide to include in it
Hey hun, we had only 1 free round with NHS so we threw everything at it. Went for the embryoscope as an added extra and even though there is no proof it helped , we got a top grade blastocyst that resulted in a full term pregnancy. They told us it helps just by not disturbing the dish daily to check on its progress, whether or not that's true....who knows.
Good luck whatever you decide. Xxx
