Hi, am due to start treatment again 2 weeks and considering transferring 2 embryos this time but would like some advice on it.
With our first fresh round we were blessed with a daughter who is now turning 3. We then done a FET in April 2021 transferring one embryo which failed, in July 2021 we done another FET transferring 1 embryo which resulted in a miscarriage at around 10 weeks.
We have 3 embryos left one graded 4BB and the other 2 graded 3BB.
I feel this will be our last go as mentally don’t think I could go again and that’s why am considering having 2 embryos transferred, this isn’t to hope for twins but to give me a better chance in even one sticking.
Any advice on this I would appreciate.

Hey! Just be prepared… we did 10 transfers and none of them worked. Transfer number 11 we put in 2 embryos and they both stuck! Now 15 weeks. We definitely weren’t expecting that!So long as you have considered the impact twins will have on your life and you’re happy with that prospect then go for it!
P.s. a girl I met at my clinic had her transfer same day as me, also put two in. One split and she’s pregnant with triplets! 😱
It’s a very personal choice. The question to ask yourself is would you be fine with twins or even triplets. I knew I would not be which made my choice an easy one to make. Good luck!
I did four transfers in total. My first two I transferred one top grade embryo and they didn’t stick. The third I transferred two 3AB graded embryos and I had a chemical pregnancy. My fourth I moved clinics and altered my protocol, did another fresh transfer and transferred two and they both stuck! I’m now 16 (almost 17) weeks pregnant. We had discussed the idea of twins knowing it was a possibility, but not really believing we’d be so lucky. So far I’ve had a smooth pregnancy… cost wise it’s fairly expensive as it’s two of everything but after everything we’ve been through, I couldn’t be more grateful.
So long as you’re prepared for twins incase it happens, then go with 2 🍀💗
Hi Vicky. My thoughts are that it wouldn't be unreasonable to transfer 2 embryos. You have rightly said that it is to give you a better chance, not to ensure you have twins. So ending up with one or two little beauties will be fine, whichever happens. I do wish you luck and I shall be thinking of you. Diane
Agree with others only do it if you are medically mentally physically and financially prepared for twins (or triplets!)I had twins and they are amazing and I’d do it all again if I could but physically it was very hard and all 3 of us nearly died and I still have some residual feelings of guilt that I could have left our then 4year old elder daughter motherless which adds a different dimension if you already have an older child at home x
