Secondly, after 4 failed FETs and 1 failed fresh transfer, yesterday I had the call from my nurse to say that this transfer has worked. I'm actually pregnant. I have a BFP!! I didn't test at home because after the trauma of so many negative tests, I just couldn't bring myself to, so I waited for the call - it was a long day. There were a lot of tears.
I'm so grateful to you all who have got me through the past 2 years of IVF (and 3 years TTC before that). The heartache we go through with every single step of this is enough to break most people, but we carry on because ultimately we know what we want and we'll do anything to get it.
It's incredibly early days and I'm 100% aware that this could be taken away at any moment, but for now I'm enjoying the feeling of knowing that our perseverance paid off!

Could you remind me what changes you made this time please lovely and did you do anything different during the 2ww wait or changes to diet, supplements etc anything like that this time? Xx
Thank you - that's so kind!Yes!! So we ended up doing another cycle then testing all the embryos, we were incredibly lucky to have 6 of the 8 come back normal. I also had all my immunology panel done and it did show raised NK cells in the blood. I had an ERA test done in December too which showed I needed 24 extra hours of progesterone. So I think all of those combined were the key. I think sometimes it's worth taking the time to investigate before using anymore precious embryos. Where are you at right now? xx
We are waiting for our follow up appointment on Tuesday, so getting my list together! Trying to think of all the things I should be asking and trying to get every tip I possibly can! It has been such a long, anxious wait since our failed 3rd transfer in June. But I am looking forward to the prospect of getting a new plan in place. I keep thinking do I need to change diet or add more supplements, maybe I am overthinking it all, I have a tendency to overthink at the best of times!

Any time my lovely - my inbox is always open too.In terms of supplements I actually cut back this time. I just felt like I was taking so many and not really sure if they were doing anything!!
What I did take was:
methylfolate 400iu (1 a day) / terra nova pregnancy multi vitamin (1 a day) / vitamin D spray 3000iu (1 a day).
Then everything else that the clinic prescribed (cyclogest x 3 / lubion x 2 / inhixa x 1 / prednisolone x 20mg / progynova x 12mg / aspirin 75mg)
So I was rattling pretty much!
One thing I did have every day was a smoothie of watermelon, ginger and beetroot - there was a study to show that it helped with implantation (google it) but I would be amazed if this had any affect - much more likely the ERA / PGS / Steroids!! But because it's been so hot it was lovely as I froze all the ingredients xx

Will be interesting to see if she changes my meds, the last 2 rounds she kept the same down reg and stims. I hope I can have some tweaks next time to feel like we are doing something differently and of course perhaps some more investigative tests as well. I find it all very confusing and Google is a minefield of information! Will definitely be looking at that smoothie, it sounds delicious! Xx

We’re all good thank you-had a scan a few days ago at 10+6 as I got a private NIPT and it was amazing seeing the difference from 8 weeks, plus bean was raving away. I can’t say I’m enjoying the nausea in this heat but just trying to suck it up, and hubby had been a legend bringing me ginger beer and cold cloths 😂 Agree it’s time for some cooler weather! Xxx

Exactly the right attitude to have - this is a huge win, mentally too. The anxiety is VERY real in the first few weeks (especially if things are bumpy) but it does get easier until one day you forget you were ever worried. Take it one day at a time is my advice - and PM if you ever want to just chat x
Yes even yesterday my husband was like "are you sure - 100%?? - are you sure?? Are they definitely our results..." ARGH!! But it's slowly sinking in. Might go to the pharmacy to get a test as I've literally never seen those pink lines - but even though I know it's positive I'm still terrified!! I’m sure you must be in such disbelief! But believe it - and enjoy every second! I’m on progynova now, lining scan on Tuesday. Like you, this cycle I did PG testing and following my ERA protocol of needing an extra 24 hours - hopefully the combo of the two makes all the difference. If not I think I’ll look into immunology testing.
We're doing okay. Husband has been on supplements and a strict lifestyle regimen for what seems an interminably long time (8 months) to try to improve DNA fragmentation. He took a follow-up test last week so now we're just waiting to find out the results. I'm hopeful that we've managed to improve things somewhat... So just in waiting mode at the mo! xx
We’d been waiting for a while since choosing our donor and had heard nothing but finally spoke to the nurse this morning who said we are good to go on our donors next cycle in Aug. Meds delivered on mon. So it has all suddenly got real! Very excited! xxx

Haha in my experience it won't really stop sounding weird, will just get a little less so! I'm almost 29 weeks now and it still doesn't really seem real sometimes, but it physically feels very real! I'm doing pretty well all things considered! xx

Yes we did... But only 2 cycles as we couldn't afford to pay for 3 cycles all upfront which is what our clinic wanted. Plus I'm happier to transfer this year - hopefully in Nov/Dec.Feb seemed a loooong way off which is what it would have been so 🤞Xx

Re immune protocol did you do intralipids? I’ve got mine ready for when the transfers start but it’s steroids, some other pills, fragmin and intralipids (which I’m a bit worried about) xx
Aww I'm so pleased - it's the main reason I wanted to share as I know so many of us have been through so much - it's hard to stay positive but it can work!!
I did do intralipids and 20mg prednisolone a day. The intralipids were much better than I was expecting - not painful or anything, just a little canular like when you go for egg collection and it only took about 30 mins. No side affects after. You'll be fine xxx

Hehe, yes I remember that feeling well - definitely surreal but so pleased you’re experiencing it! It’ll definitely feel more real once those wonderful first trimester symptoms kick in and at your next scan! I’m doing well - the heat plus 3rd trimester is an eye opener but otherwise doing just dandy xxx

I know, I felt like I could only relax after I could start feeling baby kick (which took a while as of course I had an anterior placenta) but that wasn’t until 23 weeks for me! Try and take one day at a time (it’s hard I know..!). Twinges are definitely normal, I had pulling/cramping pretty much through 1st trimester - uterus is just stretching to make some room for the little one. Xxx
Just over 8 weeks to go now..hoping he will continue baking until September. I have a scan next week to check his growth so obviously there is some anxiousness (as always) but it is definitely starting to feel real and tangible now 🙈 do you know when you’ll have your viability scan yet? Xxx

We are 30 weeks now!!! She is on the smaller side so they are monitoring her growth very closely to make sure she doesn't need to come out sooner than later but as of now all is going well!!! I am so very happy for you though, you are one of the women that I admired for not giving up and to keep pushing forward for this so I cannot wait to follow your progress!!!! Yes this is my first experience of it so not really sure what to expect but unfortunately have seen so many horror stories on here that it makes me nervous 😟 xx
I wonder if a lot of the positives don’t post as they worry it’s insensitive. I felt like you and that’s why I wanted to post a positive scan result to give others hope! Not long to go now Xx
Remember you're likely to read the difficult stories here - people rarely share the positive stories! The most important thing is for you to look after yourself and listen to your body, take lots of rest breaks and eat little and often!
Hey Millbanks! I found your hope giving post and just wondering - with the lucky euploid transfer, did you follow era results? I.e. 24 h more of progesterone? And also, it was the first time you pgta tested ? Thanks!
Yes it was the first time we’d definitely used a euploid embryo and we also used the ERA timing (we’d used that before but it hadn’t been successful) it was 137 hours of progesterone.
