So today was my OTD from the clinic. They told me to test today. So I got a negative and told my mum and she asked if I had bled. I said no, not yet. She said she had been looking online and seems to think the clinic gave me the wrong date to test. I got a 3 day transfer and today is day 10. According to a 3 day transfer timeline she says the amounts aren’t strong enough to pick up on a pregnancy test. She says day 11 is the first day. I did a clear blue test with the words and weeks counter. I don’t know how quick the result came up cos I poas and left the room cos I couldn’t bear to look at it. 3 mins later I sent hubby in.
I’ve not had any symptoms of pregnancy so I accepted the result but mums got me thinking.
Should I try another test tomorrow? Xxx

When I had my round - what my clinic told me to do in case of a negative test, but no bleeding - was to continue all my medication and test again in 3 days, but I would call them on OTD and then for test 3 days later.
My clinic asked me to email them with the result today but I haven’t had a reply. I took my progesterone this morning out of habit. On the letter they gave me the day of the transfer it says to re test after 3 days if I don’t have a bleed but it doesn’t say whether to keep taking the meds or stop. Will the progesterone stop my period coming? It didn’t on my last cycle but I’ve read it can. I don’t want to get false hope. Xx
I do not know for certain if the progesterone will completely stop your period - if it is unsuccessful, I have read some people start to bleed despite on it. But I suppose it could delay it in some cases, but I do not know the answer to that. I am sorry. And I do understand you do not want to get false hope 😔 Such a rollercoaster of emotions. All my letter said was to call them - continue medication and re test in 3 days and call them again. It does say;
“in rare situations, the test may give a falsely negative result especially if the urine is very dilute (pale). Because the pregnancy hormone increases quickly in very early pregnancy, a repeat test after three days will be able to pick up a positive result.”
Hopefully your clinic may reply to you and I would just do what they have told you, to retest in 3 days. Xx
Yes, you should test again. I would test 12 days post if I had a 3 day transfer... some people test 14dp3dt... I would say you still have a chance 🍀 Good luck x
Forgot to say, in my case progesterone always kept my bleed until I stopped it, the period normally starts 3 to 4 days later. I would continue with the meds for another 2 days or perhaps you could have a blood test to check if you are definitely not pregnant before stopping the medication x
My clinic don’t do blood tests. It’s nhs and they just use home tests and then if positive they arrange a scan for 6 weeks. On my last cycle I started bleeding at 7dp5dt. Tested early because of that. It was negative as expected but my test date was 3 days later. I re tested on my actual date and was negative and my period full blown arrived that day. So I was hoping that the progesterone wouldn’t stop the bleed. I don’t want false hope but at the same point I don’t want to think I’m out if I’m not. Xx
Yes, everyone is different. In my case it stops it but I have read millions of posts from women getting a bleed despite being on progesterone...I am with a private clinic and they also only do home pregnancy test, only when negative they ask to go and do a blood test to make sure that you are definitely not pregnant before stopping the meds.
I would wait for a couple of days and continue with the meds, 2 days is nothing.
After that you could test again, if negative then maybe you are out but if you get a light positive you could pay for a blood test to see what is going on x
What do you mean? Like clear blue digital and regular pee stick? I don’t know if it makes any difference, I normally just get a regular pregnancy testx
10 days past a 3 day transfer seems very early to me to test. My clinic recommends testing 11 days after a 5dt, I have had positives at 9 days and 10 days past a 5dt. Definately continue your meds and retest in a couple of days with a First Response Early Response test, with the pink dye, I think they are the most sensitive. Progesterone has always held off my period in unsuccessful cycles xx
I would also say your test day seems quite early for a 3 day transfer as it would be the same as 8dp5dp. I would definitely stay on your meds and retest in a few days, clinics normally say wait three days and test againxxx
I would agree that it’s early for a test day so definitely keep up your progesterone for another 3 days or so. And buy a “first response early result” test (the pink line super sensitive) - be careful not to get the “first response rapid result” as these are not as sensitive!
