So I found out since my earlier post, that my bleeding is a subchorionic hematoma. So now I'm on as much bed rest as possible. How long do these things normally last? The bleeding has gone down so just a small spot light brown when I wipe. Doc said work is screwed as I shouldn't go in to the office in case I bleed but I haven't told the boss yet and don't know how it would go down at 7 weeks. Eeek. He's away for two end of next week so wondering if as long as I try to sit down as much as possible then I can just go in and fake it for a week then WFH for the other two weeks and let it heal?

Just saw your update WOOHOO!! congratulations Crabonks! Sorry I don’t have any advice for you, just wanted to say I am happy to see all is ok with you and your bean. Xx
In case it helps - I had a small one (no bleeding only seen on U/S) and by "bed rest" they meant laying down as they said the issue was putting any weight or strain on the uterus. Not sure if what "bed rest" means varies or has anything to do with the "location" or size? Or an "abundance of caution." Mine resolved within 2 weeks of WFH and laying in bed with creative typing strategies. Good Luck!
Thank you Jumpppy, I have been staying in the laying position for as long as I can and will not be moving from bed all weekend I've also been walking around on egg shells when I've actually been up and about that's great news that yours was gone in two weeks - oh I really hope mine will be too! xx
I had this and it lasted about 7 weeks in total for me. It calmed down and then started again with 2 major bleeds before it was absorbed fully. Please please please just take the time off even if you don’t tell them why, it was hard for me to do as I’ve never been sick at work but once I announced at 13 weeks people completely understood and if they were puzzled/mad at me for a few weeks before that then who cares! You need all the rest you can get lovely, not least because it’s such a stressful worrying time on you mentality. Lie down for a few weeks & pop on some movies 🤗🤗 xxx
Thank you Twiglet2 - luckily the boss is away for two weeks from next week but it's tough - I'm single and the only EA to a busy (and needy) CEO - but I know I've gotta do it to ensure everything's ok! So far it's really calmed down since Wednesday and I ain't moving from this bed all weekend I've got some friends bringing me stuff so no carrying heavy bags of groceries for me xx
I had one with my son, they often resolve by the start of trimester 2, sometimes way before. Mine resolved in week 9 xx I was told try not to heavy lift, walk gently, avoid up and down the stairs too often, just generally taking it more easy
Hi there I saw that you have an SH like I did... it was the most horrifying part of my pregnancy as I thought I’d lost the baby. There was so much bleeding. Mine slowly sealed up again, and it was visible in the sonograms that it was getting smaller and smaller. I wasn’t told bed rest but in hindsight, I feel like they should have told me that. But I did take it easy abs did nothing abs worked from home. Covid had just struck so at least I didn’t have to go to an office. It sounds like you are doing whatever you need to do to protect the precious babe. Just wanted you to know that I now have a 4 month old baby boy , he survived that situation, just to give you hope. Those little embies are fighters. Wishing you quick healing over the next few weeks💕
Thank you Tacos44 - I have been seeing there’s so many more good stories of outcomes than bad so I’m holding on to that hope. I have my second scan tomorrow and I do feel a bit different today - hoping that means the SCH had gone! I only had two quite small bleeds (in comparison to what I’ve been reading!) and the rest had been brown spotting or wiping so really hoping that means good things too. Ugh it’s so scary! Fingers crossed for tomorrow. X
