Buserelin

Hi, this is my first post. I was just wondering if anyone on buserelin has had no / very little aide effects. I had a 3 day period at the start of taking it (pretty much when due) and aside from getting hot during the night and the odd headache (more likely caffeine withdrawal) no other issues! Is this ok? Thank you xx

Hi Surfer9 , I didn’t have any side effects with Buserelin. I had headache the next morning when I started taking the injections and that’s about it. No side effects is always good so relax. All the best xx

Hi Surfer9 this is my 21st day on Buserelin and I have had pretty much what you have wrote. I have had an odd headache. Worst one was New Year’s Eve but thankfully it eased off late afternoon so I could enjoy my party food I bought for me and the husband 😂

In terms of temp I wake up most nights super warm so I Chuck the duvet down whilst I cool off and that does the trick.

I am still spotting after my cycle too which started on the 27th December but putting it down to the meds. I had bloods yesterday and I am down regulating so fingers crossed the scan looks good in a couple of weeks 🤞

Do you have a date for your bloods yet xx

Hi Jonesy84, I’m so glad to hear that, it sounds exactly like my symptoms - worst night was also NYE for me, I went to bed at 9 🤦🏼‍♀️

To be honest I don’t know when my bloods will be...I have a scan on Tuesday so maybe they’ll start taking them then too?

Good luck with your scan, keep me posted with how you get on! This is my first round of IVF and my first time on this group and can’t believe how informative it is and helpful people are! It’s really lovely to chat with other people who are going through a similar experience!

Ah sorry yes the reason I had bloods was I had a frozen round cancelled as I had ovulated so the bloods were to check I was down regulating. Last time it was the scan first.

Yes I agree the forum is a great place. It’s just nice to know you are in touch with people who know what you are going through and the support is great

Hi same. I was concerned too but it’s ok not to have symptoms. I had my period at the right time and aside from a couple of headaches on days when I didn’t drink enough I was fine. I did get hormonal in that I was emotional and more prone to crying but nothing else. I’m still on prognova and have no symptoms on that either. I think the key is to stay hydrated

Hi Surfer, I started Buserelin on 23rd Dec and I was all set for side effects to appear right away, but it was almost an anti-climax as I felt fine! My period was 2 days late and seems to have been shorter than usual though. At about the same time some minor side effects kicked in - I am definitely more emotional now, thirstier and having headaches some days. Got my first scan tomorrow so I'm hoping that shows the Buserelin has worked! 🤞🏻

It's my first try at IVF too and I can't believe how helpful this forum has been. I only know one person who's been through IVF (it worked first try for her) and although a few of my close friends know we're having it they have no idea what it entails, so it's nice to be sharing the journey with you ladies, thank you 💗 xx

Thank you! I’m going to start drinking more today as it’s only really the headaches that are bothering me!

Your second paragraph is my exact situation!

I had the odd night sweat and had one day when I felt really..odd, but I think it may have been the antihistamine I took (they don't usually make me feel weird but together they may have). I was worried they weren't doing anything but downregged nicely at my scan. xx

Hiya I started buserelin 4 days ago. Had one headache but I do suffer with the odd headache so not sure if it’s side effects. This is also my first round of ivf and I have my baseline scan on the 25th. Good luck 🤞

Hey, I've been on Buserelin injections for 11 days now (supposed to be total of 14 days) and have not really had any side affects either besides maybe slight night sweats (but then again my partner loves to heat the room overnight so might have been that)..

Throughout the whole IVF/ICSI process I have not really had any side affects at all..

Not sure whether it's a good thing or a bad thing,,

Thank you! That’s my thoughts too, is it a good thing or a bad thing to have no symptoms. Some of the other replies and messages I’ve said have said it’s a good think, so since I’m in my state of thinking positively, I’m going to take it as a good thing until proven otherwise!!
