Hi all,

Some of you may remember me, I’d had IVF to conceive my first child and had a failed frozen cycle as well as failed fresh cycle earlier this year. I also only have one ovary now (the less dominant ovary) due to a torsion I suffered during my pregnancy with my first child.

I just wanted to share my good news in case it helps someone to stay positive and remain hopeful while on this journey. After my last failed fresh IVF, I was told by my clinic that they would only let me try one last time.... as they suspected I had egg quality issues on top of only having one ovary. We were in the process of saving up for what would be our last go and made peace with the idea that we’re likely to remain a family of 3.

Fast forward a couple of months and I found myself naturally pregnant. My first ever natural pregnancy in almost 6 years of trying, as if that wasn’t surprising enough, I then found out I was expecting twins. Miracles really do happen!!

While saving up for what would be our last IVF and waiting for COVID restrictions to lift - I read the book, ‘It Starts With An Egg’ and started taking the recommended Vitamins including Q10. I also tried to watch (not all the time) my Carbohydrates intake..... I did this for 2 months before I fell pregnant. I’m not sure if it had any impact at all but it’s defo worth a try. Only other factor which could have influenced my natural pregnancy is that I was working from home 70% of the time due to lockdown.

I just wanted to share my story in case it gave anyone some hope while on this frought journey.

Best wishes to everyone,

Hopingfor1more

Hi Jess8819

Obviously I’m not 100% sure that is what got me pregnant but here are the supplements myself and hubby we’re taking ..... they are a bit on the expensive side but we were willing to throw everything at our last shot of IVF. All the best xxx

FEMALE

*prenatal with at least 800 mcg of natural food folate or methylfolate

*CoQ10 x2 (as ubiquinol or Bio-Quinon): 400 mg per day— one 200 mg capsule with breakfast, one with lunch.

*R-alpha lipoic acid: 200–300 mg - at least 30 minutes before a meal

*N-acetylcysteine: 600 mg—any time

*Vitamin E: 200 IU—any time.

*Vitamin C (500 mg) to boost antioxidant defenses even more.

*Vitamin D3 - 4000–5000 IU (I took 6000IU)

MALE

*Multi-Vitamins containing methylfolate & selenium

*CoQ10 supplement at least 200 mg of ubiquinol daily

* Alpha-lipoic acid - take 200 to 300 milligrams per day.

Congratulations! That is so amazing. We have just started trying for a second baby naturally before we consider treatment again. This really gives me some hope that it’s possible to conceive naturally and I am going to look into those vitamins. Thank you for sharing x

Can I ask what cleaning products you used at home if you don’t mind. I’ve read the It starts with and egg book and moved onto toxic free products but am conscious Covid is still around...

Hi Ray

I hadn’t gone down the removing toxic products route to be honest. I didnt implement everything in the book, just the vitamins and diet stuff. I’ve always used Method cleaning products and I use fairy liquids for dishes.

All the best
