Fantastic news this morning from the embryologist. One embryo is only a Grade 1 πFirst time in 5 years of IVF managed anything higher than a Grade 2. Am putting it down to ubiquinol ladies so please keep taking it does work ππ»
It is currently a 4 cell embryo and it will definitely be transferred tomorrow.
Now the second embryo is not bad but itβs not great. There is slight fragmentation and it has only 3 cells. So if not much change with that one tomorrow they will recommend growing it until day 5 (Monday). Their fear of transferring a βnot so good qualityβ with a βtop gradeβ is that it may fail as they can work against each other.
I have to take their professional advise, must admit I will be more confident if second embie catches up and we have a double as I have never got a BFP from a single transfer. Only doubles. Mind you I have never had a Grade 1 embryo until now. Not bad for this geriatric aged 44 π
I feel on top of the world and what I will say βpositive thinking goes a long wayβ. All morning I have wished and said out loud βplease can I have the best quality embryos I have ever hadβ and well itβs like a dream come true having a Top grade one πππ₯³
Transfer tomorrow 10.30 π€πΌ
Anyone else transferring tomorrow ? Wishing everyone on here the best of luck and also thanks for your huge support. This forum really is my life line πππ»π

Woo hoo! Todayβs dream has come true! Keeping everything crossed that tomorrowβs dream comes true too. Hereβs to the fabulous forties! Weβre with you every step of the way x π€π»π€π»π€π»
Thank you, am hoping your good luck rubs off on me. Fabulous forties indeed π Enjoy ever second of your pregnancy. I know itβs early days but positive thinking will get you through π
Whoooooop! Wow thatβs such fantastic news!! And gives this geriatric 43 year old a little bit of hope as have been necking ubiquinol for the past 4 months! I am so thrilled for you xx
For sure Daisy, my clinic do not recommend anything but folic acid & vitamin d. I made my Dr aware I am taking ubiquinol and he said he canβt stop me taking it and it canβt do no harm. I have taken it religiously every day last 3-4 months.
Am busy googling whether to keep taking it throughout the 2ww. Such a grey. I never took it during my last BFP and I miscarried. Read somewhere it meant to help prevent miscarriage so am inclined to keep going. What do you think? x
When I read about it I concluded stop at ET... so that was my plan (again my consultant didnβt advise it I self prescribed). Havenβt heard about MC prevention and am very interested though!! Xx
If I find the article I read will send you a copy . I think I may ask the Dr when am in tomorrow but got feeling they will say stop now. I totally get stopping likes of dhea which am not on but ubiquinol is only an antioxidant and I canβt see what harm it will do. x
Greta news Hope76! It sounds like thats the right decison not to put the other one back at the moment if it isnt looking like its on track....see what tomorrow brings. Best of luck for tomorrow.xx
Omg yaayy ! Good luckπ€πΌ Iβm really praying for you.
Iβm having my transfer tomorrow too at 11am. Iβve had 2 failed rounds of IVF previously, they say 3rd time lucky π I want to transfer 2 embryos for a better chance, anyone else had 2 transferred with success ?
So happy to hear this! I hope your other one catches up πππ
Our second embryo had fragmentation on day 3 and only had 7 cells, but it managed to catch up and make a good looking day 5 blast! I'm rooting for your little 3 cell emby πππ
Hi, well the embryologist said it is possible so hereβs hoping π€πΌ. I am quite hopeful even if we do have a single transfer this time that we may stand a chance with a top grade embryo ππ».
Thank you that certainly gives me hope. This IVF really is a numbers game π€πΌππ»π
Thanks so much am not going to be able to get much sleep tonight ... excited but so nervous too as kinda know itβs last chance saloon for us !!!
Just realised you had your transfer today how did it go ? Did you have a single or double ? Is it a 3 day or 5 day? (I wonβt be far behind you on the dreaded 2ww)
Will you be trying again soon for miracle no 2? I know like me you have not had an easy time of it in your attempt for a sibling. Sending you lots of good wishes x
Good memory! Iβve just started the rollercoaster ride again! Well, βstartedβ - until transfer I wonβt be doing much: Despite medical advice for stimulated FET, weβre going natural. First time. Theyβll be somewhat challenged timing the transfer as I currently have three cysts (35, 25 and 14 mm) so spotting on scans how the lead follicle is doing will be tricky but theyβre going to try. We were so blessed with 7 Frosties of our first second fresh cycle that gave us our little girl, but weβve already burned through four without result. Fifth time lucky?!
We are very similar in the sense we are not going down without a fight. We will do everything in our power to get a silbling we can and we will. This time I have focussed on positive thinking more than anything else & so far so good π
Thank you for sharing the positive thoughts! Youβre so right - the worst that can happen is that we lose the fight, but weβll always know weβve tried our very hardest!
And, the steady wins the race and persistence pays off, right?!
Siblings, know your future parents are tough cookies! πͺ πͺπ»
Hi Lilly, my accupuncturist gives me away my own needles and instructions. Itβs only four needles and I put 2 in one finger and 2 in my thumb. The points in finger are to give a βfertility boost β. The points in thumb is for βnestingβ. Takes a few attempts to get it right but you can ask your acupuncturist to show you. I intend continuing them throughout my 2ww.
Whether it helps or not who knows but we will try anything right π€πΌππ»π
Best of luck with your double transfer. My 4 year old is the result of my first ever transfer with was a double grade C. I hope you have the same success ππ»π€πΌπ
Excellent am glad I have a 2ww buddy . We had a single transfer too this morning all went smoothly. Now the hard part π
Wishing you lots of luck and hope we both have good news at the end to share π€πΌππππ»
Thanks for your advise is it ubiquinol you take or coq10 ? I know they both do same thing. I showed them to the DR today who felt I shouldnβt be taking the ubiquinol during the 2ww as not enough studies to show of safe to take when pregnant. I am sad to stop taking them as really felt they helped with my quality. But I have to listen to my Dr and not what the book βit start with an eggβ or other stuff I have read online x
I could only find CoQ10 here in HK. I don't think there is enough study behind DHEA, CoQ10 or Melatonin. To be safe, probably stay with the prenatal and Vitamin D. I also keep fish oil too.
Yes, I have fish oil in my prenatal. We are doing all we can itβs in Godβs hands now. Wishing you all the best. I understand IVF is unbelievably expensive in HK.... I am in Sunny Scotland and thinking of you π
Fantastic news so pleased, best of luck for your transfer today and fingers crossed the 2nd embryo catches up. Never heard about two embryos working against each other I have mostly had 2 transferred. πππ₯³πͺπ€π xx
Thanks Coral it all went smoothly now the waiting game. Itβs only if they are completely different grades according to the embryologist anyway. I was slightly dismayed at first when heard we are going with the 1 but hey at my age itβs a miracle that we have one Top Grade so am so grateful to get this one last chance.... and hey as I keep reading everywhere on here it only does take 1 and I have to think positive ππ»π€πΌπ
Thank you, so pleased transfer went smoothly. I seen my embie baby like a flash of light go shooting back where it belongs...... clear as day on the screen. I feel itβs a great sign x
As I have been taking it quite regularly since January been taking only 200mg daily. This morning was my last dose as decided best stop as so unsure about taking during 2ww. Am not convinced I should be and Dr advised against it.
I know some women swear by 600mg but my research was 200mg of ubiquinol is sufficient. Itβs only if taking coq10 you need to take more as it doesnβt absorb as quick.
I take great comfort from fact it was so clear on the screen. Was like a flash of light shooting in where it belongs. Last time I remember seeing it as clear was when we conceived our son 5 years ago.
How are you getting on? Like me I know the struggle for second baby is horrendous. Will you be starting a fresh cycle again soon ? x
Hi hun this last transfer for the very first time we took video and photos . It was like u describe flash of light shooting π₯°
We have a appointment with the doctor in a clinic next to me on 15 sep . Iβm really glad that they do NK cells and I can have laparoscopy or if we decide PGS test...but that I will leave for last ... More likely we need to do fresh cycle us we donβt have anymore frostie. I just hope I will get some answers before we start next cycle.
My baby girl turned 3 in may and trying for sibling for her is much harder then I thought π
I got my fingers crossed for u hun π Lets your little one stay when it belong πππxxx
Transfer your top quality one as a single transfer. Similar story to you, 40 years old 3 round of ivf , have never had a good enough quality to transfer before. This cycle I got one grade A and 2 grade C embryos.
Advice from gynaecologist was transfer 2 due to age but embryologist suggested only transferring the A grade one due to the C potentially affecting implantation of the Better grade embryo.
Well I transfer the A on the 16th of last month and Iβm now pregnant and awaiting my 8 weeks scan on the 20th August.
Oh my goodness you have no idea how much this helps right now thank you ππ»
We did a single transfer this morning embryo was top grade, 8 cell. As second one is still only at 4 cells they will continue to grow it until Monday.
I am however focusing on our top grade embie. Transfer went great, seen the flash of light shoot right in which is always a good sign π€πΌ
May I ask.... did you take ubiquinol during your cycle? Am trying to figure out when to stop taking 200.mg per day. My DR doesnβt support use so I am on the fence different stuff online....I canβt see how it would do harm but am thinking stopping now since we donβt know if safe while pregnant.
Wishing you all the best for your first scan and a huge congratulations π
Sorry just realised that I hadnβt answered your questions. Yeh in the 10 weeks before egg retrieval I look a combined pregnancy multi vitamin containing folic acid and vitamins D.
I also took DHEA 75 mgs a day and ubiquinol 200 mgs which I stopped 2 days before transfer. Xx
Thank you. That is reassuring, I stopped the ubiquinol morning just before transfer so all good. So much mixed info online & I asked my DR who advises stop now x
Hi Hope, I love the flash of light - it's almost like a little soul arrives! 4 frosties...sending them love and light as docs say less than 1% chance, but every individual is different and the Universe/God has it's own timing/ideas... Ubiquinol is actually made in our cells, but as we get older we make less of it, which is why we age. It's so important for energy for the mitochondria...to help the egg split into 23 chromosomes...so I can't see there be any problem taking Ubiquinol if it's made in the body...butdo what you feel is right for you. See how the advice "to take" or "not to take" sits with you, intuitively. xx Praying your embie sticks beautifully. xx
Youβre right thatβs exactly what itβs like. π 4 Frosties is fantastic am sorry the Dr giving them such a small chance but hey itβs still a chance. I asked the universe to give me the best quality embryo I have ever had. It worked, okay it was only 1 but still it only takes 1 right π€πΌ
Regarding ubiquinol, yes I completely agree and wonder why Drβs cannot see the benefits... I have read exactly what you are saying so this is why I was so undecided. I took one yesterday before transfer and well am still deciding about today... am Defo giving it more thought this evening.
Thanks so much and I wish you so much luck going forward πππ»π€πΌ
