What is timeline for natural FET?

Sorry if obvious question but cannot seem to get a clear picture online. Due to start period anyway now. Clinic just said to ring on day 1. No further info given yet. Consultant said I can have natural. So assume I will do home ovulation tests and let them know? Would be grateful if anyone has had experience of such. Hard trying to map out a timeline! X

If it’s completely natural it depends on your own cycle. They will start testing you about a week and a half after your period to check for when you ovulate (Some clinics do bloods only some do scans as well) and then they will transfer around 5 days after you ovulate (this was based on a 5 day embryo) so pretty quick, in fact I think it’s the fastest cycle out of all of them xx

Thank you for this. I love idea of no medication on one hand but in one sense I feel scared that I don’t have the buffer of medication behind me. Good to know it is fast. Thanks for the supportive info xx

I was mid natural Cycle when Covid hit and it got cancelled, I am mid cycle again just now but has to be medicated to help with the clinics planning this time due to reduced capacity . I have had a few medicated before and I honestly think it would be best to see what your body can do naturally instead of the hospital treating to get get the meds right, our bodies are amazing things so I wouldn’t worry too much about that 🤗 It’s also easier on you. Lots and lots of luck xxx

Aw that’s disappointing about covid. We had freeze all at end of jan due to risk ohF OHSS so this will be first experience of transfer. Feels like waited for ages then it all happens in a flash. Best of luck for your treatment too. Everything crossed for us and everyone else out there in the same boat xx

Hi twiglet, can you tell me the process of medicated get please. I've been called in for my first scan next week? I haven't come on my period or anything xx

Hi Anisah, it depends on what medication you are on and how medicated the cycle is. I can tell you what My clinic do but I think they are all different 😊 They do complete down reg so a prostrap injection mid cycle then a scan to make sure Your living is thin enough After your withdrawal bleed 10 days later and then a week or so later to check it’s thick enough after you get estrogen meds. Then transfer is about 8 days later (you start progesterone a few days beforehand). I hate how the clinics don’t tell you the steps sometimes and you have to guess what happens next! Hopefully you get your full protocol and timeline at your next appointment 🤗 lots of luck xx

I had a baseline scan on day 2 then day 10, then every other day until they thought I was ready to ovulate, then I did the trigger injection.

Wishing you lots of good luck x

Hi! I have just done my first natural FET and it was a bit confusing for me too so hopefully this helps.... I had to call the clinic on day 1 of my cycle. They told me to start ovulation tests on day 12 of my cycle. When I got the positive reading I had to call them which was day 17 of cycle. They asked me to go in for a scan to check lining 4 days after this then the transfer was done 3 days after that scan (day 24). The only medication I was given were 3 injections to do starting the day I got my baseline scan, the day I did transfer and 3 days after that. I am now in the middle of the 2ww 😬🤞🏼 X x

My FET was "almost" natural, only had a scan to check follicle growth and lining thickness, and then did a trigger shot to make sure I was in sync with my little embryo... who then implanted and is now a lovely 1yo girl <3

Good luck!
