I haven’t been on here in nearly 2 years when me and partner had our first successful round of IVF and wow hasn’t the time flown by, we have a nearly 2 year old little girl.
We have decided to try again this time using frozen embryos, we have a review consultation coming up this month but due to corona virus it is a telephone appointment.
Can people just tell me how it works with frozen embryos and how you all found the process.

I found doing a frozen transfer so much less stressful than fresh! Your clinic will likely give you the option of a natural or medicated cycle. I opted for a medicated one as although my cycles are regular, I wanted to be more of in control of what happened and when.
For a medicated one, I started oestrogen tablets on the first day of my period along with a baseline scan. Another scan 10 says later to check my lining was thick enough and then I started progesterone. Transfer was 5 days later x
Agreed! Frozen is great as your body is rested and hasn’t just been through stims & retrieval!
My clinic is big on progesterone support, which starts 5 days before transfer and continued until week 12.
There view is that this is key to success and you can’t have too much (but you can have too little). They tested my levels on transfer day to make sure the medication was enough and in my case increased it. Like KiboXX I also was taking oestrogen tablet (progynova)

I am in the same position. My little one is 2 end of the month and we are considering FET. Do you have any idea of the cost? X
My FET was £1600 plus drugs if that helps!x
We are also considering another go soon so contacted my clinic and they said FET is £1495 then meds can cost between £800-1500 on top x
That’s really expensive for drugs for a FET! Did they say what protocol that was on?x
Well I’ll obviously shop around first but last time I had an injection then HRT and then pessaries. It was only an admin person giving me a rough guide but to be honest I would rather save too much money ready for the cycle than not enough and having to abandon the cycle xx
Ah ok I didn’t have to down reg for mine. You actually don’t need to do that either, clinics just use it for scheduling purposes so you can push them to start straight on HRT which is nicer for you!
Cyclogest and HRT are fairly cheap. I was quoted £200. The only reason mine was more was my progesterone was low so I had to add lubion shots which aren’t cheap x
I would rather just stick with exactly how my last FET cycle went last time with the injection as I only have one embryo left so wouldn’t want to risk changing anything. Once we are all ready I’ll definitely be investigating prices xx
We had an FET to get our now 2 year old and it was so much nicer and easier than a fresh. We had much less drugs but still had to have some as my cycle isn’t consistent so it had to be medicated.

I had a fresh cycle cancelled and was kind of glad because I felt horrendous. I then went into medicated frozen 3 months later and this was also cancelled as my body didn’t like the drugs. I had a natural frozen cycle Feb which failed but then literally month after (no need to wait with natural frozen cycles) I got pregnant with a double transfer. I’ve lost one twin but one is still going strong. The only negative about natural frozen cycle is that if you ovulate on a Monday a lot of clinics cancel the cycle as they aren’t open sundays and this causes major anxiety as you can imagine. I was lucky both cycles & ovulated the Saturday/Friday. If I ever do another cycle would 💯 choose frozen natural. Much less stress on your body from the drugs. Good luck xxx
