Hi Cheles

I hope you are well.

We haven’t had this yet but are hoping to have our first cycle in a couple of months. My husband has azoospermia and will hopefully be having his Micro-Tese op in tandem with my IVF ICSI cycle. We are hoping to do it fresh on the day with my egg collection.

Doing it fresh can be risky if you are not backing it up with donor sperm but In February my husband had an FNA mapping procedure to check if there was any sperm in his testicles and thank God some was found in one of them. I am hoping it will still be there after all the delay with this Coronavirus! 😲🤭

I have seen on here over the years a few ladies with successful pregnancies after an SSR ICSI round, it’s just hard to find them as azoospermia cases are quite rare.

Wishing you lots of luck with your first round x

Hi Ladypii,

I am alreagy on my 1st cycle, egg collection scheduled in 4 days time.We have frozen samples that we are hoping to use.We are not open to donor samples yet.I am really praying and hoping all goes well as with IVF and ICSI is a game of chance.

I really wish you all the very best and hope to walk this journey with you when you get there.

Thanks alot for your reply!

Hi Cheles,

Yes we used TESE due to azospermia (unknown cause). We managed to get pregnant on the second round. Unfortunately the first round was unsuccessful as most of my eggs where immature so nothing fertilised. However the second round was so much better after a tweak in meds and I took a lot of supplements and our baby Alice was born in feb.

I agree with Ladypii as it’s very rare, there is limited info on it and we where originally told by GP we would never have our own children - but it can be successful!

Wishing you all the best Steph xx

Wow!!That is so encouraging! Its funny how some practitioners are quick to dismiss people in this journeu.Last year, a doc told us to consider donor sperms since she was almost sure my hubby did not have any sperms then we seeked another opinion and they found sperm with TESE!

I will try and be calm and will be thinking about you on 25th,by then I will also have known our fate with fertilization as well.

Keep me posted...xoxo
