Hi all, it's been a long time! Just had my 3rd transfer (first 2 didn't take). With the corona virus situation I'm trying to exercise in doors, we have an exercise bike and I was planning to use that for 30 mins a day. One of my friends is a personal trainer and told me that she usually tells women to not use exercise bikes in pregnancy- but I don't know why!? I assume it's safe but better safe than sorry so wanted to ask you lovely lot

Hey my RE told me to ‘take it easy’ I said can I walk my dog? He said yes but don’t over do it. I don’t think I would be using the exercise bike just walking to keep the blood flowing but of course it’s personal preference. My first transfer failed & I followed all the rules with a 5AA embryo, I really think there is a lot of luck involved in this stage too. Fingers crossed for you xxx

Thanks hun, I really appreciate it. I'm gonna just take it slow, maybe just do a slow pedal whilst I watch some TV. It'll keep my heart going without raising my body temp too much (apparently the issue is the same as a hot bath/hot water bottle)

I was advised not to do anything that gets the heart rate up too much so nothing that leaves you red in the face or out of breath. Advice I've seen is that you should be able to hold a conversation comfortably while exercising, so take it nice and easy xxx

I was told not to cycle during pregnancy and best exercise to do is walking, yoga and swimming (once established). I don’t know whether the movement of cycling might have an impact? You could wait until past 12 weeks and see? I’ve seen many women weight training during pregnancy so I don’t know! But good luck and take it easy 🌺

I think it depends what you are used to, now is probably not the time to start new forms of exercise. Before I was pregnant I used to go to spin classes 4-5 times a week, I didn’t do the classes whilst in the 2WW, but I did continue to use an exercise bike I just took it easy. After the 2WW I continued with spin classes until I was 26 weeks pregnant, I just monitored my heart rate and didn’t push myself too much.

I think it is really down to personal preference. Xx

Thanks for the help, I've been doing spin classes/bike riding for about 12 months so it's nothing new, just makes sense to take it easy though! X
