Is this normal or should I be worried?

I had transfer exactly 2 weeks ago today. Two 5 day blasts were transferred and I’ve recently got a BFP ☺️

This week I’ve been suffering with really bad abdominal, pelvic and lower back pain to the point it wakes me up in the middle of the night and I can’t get back to sleep as it’s so painful.

It eases off during the day - just a dull ache.

My tummy is also extremely bloated and sensitive to touch.

I had originally put it down to implantation cramping but now I’m thinking it might be something else.

I really don’t know what to do. I don’t want to have to bother the NHS when they’ve got so much to deal with.

My clinic is abroad so I can’t get any reassurance or peace of mind.

What should I do?

I’m not a doctor but I’ve had extreme cramping and my doctor prescribes buscopan. Wait it out and see what happens. Don’t be scared. What will happen will happen. You are not alone. We are all here xx

Thanks for your kind reply. It’s been getting me down so much today. Fearing the worst and not knowing the best thing to do. I will get some buscopan tomorrow and wait it out xx

How are you feeling?

Hi, I had this too and all was well. It felt like bad period pains. At my 7 week scan my ovaries were still quite swollen.

I know it’s easy for me to say but try not to worry. Lots happening in there at the moment!! x

Apologies, Hope4040, my response yesterday wasn't that helpful. In my defense, I had been drinking! How are you doing today? x

Sorry you have been feeling rough! I actually have exactly the same thing. Last night and a few other nights this last two weeks waking up with moderate to almost severe painful period type cramps / pain / pressure. The only things I can put it down to is still from the whole IVF, swollen ovaries, bruised up insides from the retrieval and transfer, mild OHSS, hormones, and especially now with the introduction of an implanting embryo etc.

I really don't think it's anything to worry about, I actually had period pains on and off when I had a previous natural pregnancy. I did MC, but it was much later and unrelated. Take it easy and look after yourself xxxx

Yes your right...I keep forgetting just what our bodies have been through these last couple of months. I think a bit of TLC is what’s required ☺️

Hope your pain subsides soon and all the best for a healthy full term pregnancy.

I had 2 MC’s last year and the anxiety from that doesn’t help. I think I’m even more of the edge with it xxx

Mine were due to my ovaries being so swollen...but it's still worth ringing the nurses and mentioning it. Do you have a scan booked? X

I’m starting to think that must be what it is as a few others have said the same.

Scan won’t be for 3 weeks! Such a long time to wait. I’ll just see how I feel next week and if it’s any worse I will have to go to the doctors xx

Firstly massive congratulations on your pregnancy 🤰🏻 ❤️ I wouldn’t worry too much it’s most likely your womb stretching out making room. Another thing it could be which I suffered with my natural pregnancy is constipation. You wouldn’t believe the pain it caused! I can imagine you are worried with your clinic abroad being closed. Have you considered contacting a clinic in the UK maybe you could pay for advise here. I know they all seem to have stopped new cycles but my understanding is a lot are still video conference calls for consultations xxx
