Heartbeat seen then hours later a bleed

I have just had my 6 week scan and all good, nice strong heartbeat after having 2 embryos transferred, I’ve come home and 3 hours later had a bleed and stomach cramps. What shall I do? I’m hopping it’s the 2nd embryo that didn’t stick. Any thoughts

Did you do a transvaginal scan? i would suggest you call your doctor. Sometimes the transvaginal scan causes a bleed but maybe your progesterone levels are low. You can't just wait it out. i would suggest you call in so you have piece of mind maybe it is nothing to worry about because a bleed does not always mean a miscarriage so it could be a number of things but rather be safe.

No it was a normal scan. I’ll find out soon as I have a scan at 3.30. Need to know one way or another, Not keen about going to the hospital at with all this going on with the coronavirus I will just make sure a shower and wash all clothes when I get in. Just need to know really x

i know the feeling.It is so strange how we could love someone so much and we have not even meet them yet.It really is stressful but your little bean is a fighter. I'm happy for you

Firstly, try not to worry (I know, easier said than done) but bleeding is VERY common in early pregnancy and usually nothing to worry about.

Can you ring your clinic? If not, try your GP. Say you've had a bleed and you need a referral to your EPU. They should then scan you. Give them a call and really push for a scan - because once you’ve had it it will hopefully put your mind at rest.

For what it’s worth it definitely could be the 2nd one that didn’t stick. It could also be absolutely nothing 💕🤞🏻.

Brilliant. For what it’s worth I’ve had bleeding in 2 of my pregnancies and both times they scanned me and found no reason for the bleed. I’ll be keeping everything crossed for you it’s the same for you! Xx

Rosie I had 2 bleeds during the first 12 weeks, one was as you describe at about 8w - period symptoms followed by spotting then bleeding, I cried. Had a big glass of wine and then a nap and went to epu next day.

Having previously had a MMC I just knew it was all over on our 3 of 3 try’s. But I was wrong: All was fine!

Second time at about 10-11w was a massive full on bleed, like nothing I’ve seen before. Amazingly the pregnancy was unaffected. I’m 33w now - so don’t dwell too much and do as you are doing / check in with the midwife and EPU xxx

Thanks, it does help to here others experiences. Take it easy is probably the best advice isn’t it? So this staying in the house is probably not a bad thing at all xx
