Access fertility

Morning,

(Me again) trying to get prepared for my follow up appmt next week. I was wondering if people could give me any thoughts about using Access Fertility please? I believe a few on here are using them/ have them used. My clinic has just started using them and I want to get on board if it’s a cost saver as we’re spending a fortune! Are there any major things not included that I should be aware of? My clinic doesn’t include blood tests in any packages currently but scans are included.

Any experience is welcome! Admin I’m hoping this post is allowed as I’m not asking about a specific clinic. If anyone doesn’t feel comfortable sharing then please feel free to DM me.

Hi hifer, I would highly recommend Access Fertility as they are efficient and professional. They have been dealing with my clinic directly regarding billing. Medication and other pgs testing are not included in their packages. Good luck!

That’s good to hear thank you. I wouldn’t assume medication was included but it looks on the website as if pgs testing is included! At least for the package I’m

interested in. Will double check xx

You are totally right, PGS testing is not included! It says ‘compatible’ on their website which I wrongly assumed meant they would do it. They have just confirmed that they do not! Thanks for the heads up x

Yes, both our rounds have been pgs tested and I would want that going forwards but I can pay the clinic directly for this (just need to find out how much that will be for the individual package) Gulp!! 🥴

Hi hifer, I paid 3000 pounds for my pgs testing last time to the clinic directly. I transferred a pgs tested embryo and got a bfn last time. I wouldn't do pgs this time.

Hey hifer. I'm with Access Fertility. Drugs, as I'm sure you're aware, aren't included or any initial/diagnostic appointments. It is just the treatment itself, when you get in to it, that is included.

Thanks. It seems a bit too good to be true which is why I’m checking. I think it will save us thousands and against my better judgment I’m toying with the idea of another egg collection!!x

I thought I wouldn't be strong enough to keep doing IVF, but somehow I've gone for (and thankfully been accepted for) the 2 year unlimited program, which is loads of money, but gives me peace of mind I don't really have a set limit for the near future (apart from the fact it seems to take months to set up each cycle with my clinic).

Well done! I’m too old for that program so I think the multi cycle program would be for me. I haven’t got more than 2 egg

collections in me anyway! We can do this IVF warrior 😉xx

Ah, then that makes it an easy choice! Do a 2x multi-cycle program. Using Access Fertility does seem to save a lot money. And I have found them great to deal with - they are really responsive to questions. We got this!

I used access fertility through oxford fertility group. There were no issues. Embryoscope and embryo glue was included in the package.... all drugs were separate.

Hi Hifer, I don’t want to shut down all the positive responses you got about Access Fertility, but one thing that I don’t like about them is that everything feels a bit too much like a ‘package’ that suits all. My clinic also offers packages with Fertility Access but we have decided not to go with it to have more of a personalised and dedicated care and service. I had the impression that Fertility Access is a bit of an ‘all inclusive’ service, where they give you the basics but won’t go the extra mile. And in IVF you really need to go the extra mile, especially after failed cycles.

I may be wrong of course, but thought it’s important to share with you. Food for thought I guess.

I don’t know if you ask for add-ons if you would be able to get them (other ladies will be able to confirm) or if they even offer them....but for example would they tweak your protocol mid way through if seeing that you’re responding in a poor way? Things like that...

My understanding is that the care I’m already receiving wouldn’t change. I’m not changing clinics, just the way I pay for it. I’ve already checked that we would stick with the same consultant (he doesn’t know anything about costs so I don’t think he’s bothered either way 🤦‍♀️!) I’ve got a call with them though to check all of these things out so it’s worth being forewarned. Thank you 🙏 x

I used them without any issues. After being accepted and paying them i didn’t need to contact them again as it all went through the clinic then. I had to have my AMH redone to be accepted.

I think just read the small print to see what is and isn’t included, embryo scope and glue were included as part of my plan and I just told the clinic to do it and that it was access covered.

Others than drugs I didn’t need to pay for anything else.

Thanks a lot. That’s really helpful. I have to pay for scans and blood tests at my clinic (I’ve had millions!!) which really adds up so if it’s all included that would be really helpful!!xx

My only caution would be that you can lose money on the plan if you choose the wrong one.

We chose the 3 cycle one and by some miracle got pregnant at the first cycle with the first transfer.

We were certain it would not work first time but hey ho, it’s hard to care once your pregnant. But we did not get our money’s worth xx

I think I forgot to post my reply.

I am on access fertility .

Our up front two cycle includes monitoring bloods , scans etc but not stimulation drugs which were £1000.

The initial blood tests were not included but you maybe have these anyway?

We found it was going to save 2/3 grand if we got one Fresh and two frozen per cycle . Pretty much saving 1 third I think in the end.

Also it is immediate stress relief from funding worries and re planning after a fresh cycle.

They were even prepared to give us a partial refund if we decided to stop after first cycle.

Great message response on website too if you fancy asking specific case questions .

Hi,

I used access fertility, we unfortunately wasn’t excepted on to the refund program and they didn’t really give us any indication why ? Even our doctors were confused to why we wasn’t excepted. But we still went ahead and paid for the two cycles which did save us some money than paying for them individually. We are currently 20 weeks pregnant from our second cycle with 3 frozen. So I guess we have saved money in the end but we didn’t have the peace of mind. I would also challenge the unlimited in two years??? Realistically how many cycles could you do in two years it has taken us 18 months to do two with wait times at the clinic so 🤷‍♀️. We also found them sending us incorrect information at times which was frustrating.

This is just my experience but haven’t had any other problems it’s been straight forward. X

Thank you. I have a limited choice of programs because of my age so couldn’t do unlimited and I wouldn’t be on a refund program sadly. Amazing news that you are now 20 weeks though, many congrats! Thank you for your feedback x
