Delayed egg collection

Hi guys! So my egg collection has been delayed by two days - fingers crossed the follicles will grow at least another 2mm in this time. This isn’t a problem and quite normal apparently so I’m quite positive, was just confused as up until my scan today I’ve only had 12 follicles, suddenly over the weekend the two larger ones haven’t matured much more (2mm in 3 days) and another six smaller ones have sprouted. I was hoping the larger ones would develop more rather than new little ones appear, or does it not really matter?

Am just hoping with new follicles now, that the two largest ones will still be able to take enough from the same menopur dose!

Also my womb lining was 8.1mm so ideal at the moment but have had quite a lot of discharge today and am worried it’s shedding - will that matter?

A slight delay is all good ☺️ mine was delayed by a day as I had 7 follicles ready but 4 that were at 12mm so they wanted to give them a chance - (I only did one cycle) they jumped up and then others that were at 10/11mm or less jumped up too!

I can’t really say about the lining side but I’m sure they have taken it in to consideration, hopefully it’s just continuing to thicken.

Hey, mine were also delayed a few days and I ended up with a far better no of follicles than they had thought from the initial scans. I think it’s always good to have a few back runners ready for the final sprint as you may end up finding you get eggs from the big ones and some of the newer smaller ones. I also wouldn’t worry too much about the lining which sounds really healthy. I don’t see any obvious reason why it wouldn’t maintain or even get thicker.

I was due to have egg collection today after scan on Friday but got call a few hours after my scan to say they wanted to delay for 2 days also. In all honesty, I completely crashed and had a mini breakdown as I was so relieved after the scan to be told not yet. Scan today showed that I had 4 good sized follicles - 22mm, 20mm, 19mm and 17mm. I only had one good size on Friday so glad we delayed as it gave the others a chance to catch up. Egg collection is now on Weds. I think there are around 7 which will be taken.

2 days make a lot of difference. Good luck for your collection x

Hi Gembunny.

I had my scan yesterday and mine was also delayed by a day. The nurse seems confident that it will happen this week. It did really knock me and i was a bit upset. However, sometimes they need to make tweaks and if it works out better in the long run it will be worth it. Hope it all goes well for you xxx
