Ubiquinol

Hiya ladies

Our first cycle of IVF/PGD ended in a bfn. I know this is too soon to start thinking about the next cycle, I know I'm overthinking at the minute but I just wondered if anyone has or taken Ubiquinol and if it made a difference? We only had one gene free embie out of 16 follicles from egg collection and I know it's quality over quantity but like I said I'm over thinking at the minute reading loads of studies and just wanted to know if anyone has tried this or something different for the second cycle ?

I believe that 600mg ubiquinol, pqq and inositol all helped me improve my embryo quality, but obviously that is just my belief. I had been taking them consistently and then concieved a few times naturally and got 5 blasts out of 6 eggs. Still weren’t great quality but never had blasts becore. Previously they had been rubbish.

Hiya

I've been googling alsorts at the minute and I'm willing to try anything. Did you buy a particular brand?

Well the ubiquinol 300mg by “health thru nutrition” on amazon sees the best price to me with quality. There is a cheaper one but reviews are dodgy and accusations of them being fake. And I buy pqq in the same brand. Then I use Jarrow formulations inositol powder - a teaspoon daily dissolved in water xx

I completely agree with orla, I took the exact same supplements as her along with DHEA and N-acetyl cysteine and had much better quality/fertilisation rate on my second attempt as we didn’t get any fertilise on first go but second attempt we had 6 fertilise, I’m now 27 weeks pregnant and we have 3 Frosties. I’m almost certain the supplements helped xx

Oh wow congratulations. When did you start taking them ?

I started taking them around 2 months prior to my starting stimms. I only took the DHEA for 6 weeks prior to stimms as recommended by my fertility specialist xx

I was on dhea as well but I’m always cautious to recommend that unless someone has low amh as I have no idea of who it is suitable for other than low amh! What is the n-acetyl cysteine supposed to do?xx

Just realised n-acetyl cysteine is NAC, we use that at work for paracetamol overdose or to protect your liver. X

Yes some say to take if AMH is low but my fertility doctor suggested using it to improve my egg quality as we thought that may be the reason for no fertilisation.

NAC has many properties but is apparently good for cell regeneration and ladies with PCOS x

Hey sorry only just seen your message. Thank you. NAC is N-acetyl cysteine. I bought mine off amazon. As I mentioned it has many properties and studies have shown it can improve fertility in ladies with PCOS. It’s worth a try and I believe they made a difference with me xx

I didn't realise you could get it on Amazon, I might have a look at that. I was told recently that they think I have a polycystic ovary due to having abdominal surgery when I was 17 x

Hi Kim

I used Ubiquinol 600mg daily for about3months and it helped me to get pregnant once naturally which I misscarried and the second one is via ivf and Im pregnant!

However I used other medecine like Prednisolone5mg and pregnacare before conception vitamins as well!

But I guess Ubiquinol is one of the best I could use and dont forget to buy the micronised one! It will absorbs much better and try to use it at least3months before your ivf!

Sending u baby dusts and wish the best of luck!

Congratulations on your pregnancy. Thank you so much for your advice. I will honestly try/ do anything this time around. My husband bought some ubiquinol already but I'm not sure what type though, and I'm going to get my bloods checked soon my thyroid and vit d were low but not enough to treat.

Guys ACU are closed over December and I've not had a follow up appointment yet so I don't think we will be looking at cycle two until Feb/ March time. Plenty of time to Google absolutely everything ! 😁

Thank u honey!

If u gonna wait till Feb-March ,it’ll be great then u have enough time to boost the levels of vitamins and other treatments that r needed!

I just forgot to tell u that Im on baby aspirin (75mg)and Fragmin 5000unit injections as blood thinners coz I had abit high level immune system(NK Cells)as well!

Hope these helps as u r planning to have a complete check up before your next round!

My fingers r crossed for u and sending u baby dusts again! xxx
