Hey all, I am with a new gp after moving house and quite frankly also want a second opinion, have been ttc nearly 4 years never been pregnant. Has a ultrasound two years ago all fine so not looked at again l, had one today and have been told I have lots of cysts on my ovaries and she said this does effect ttc.. has anyone got pregnant naturally with PCO?x (apparently I don’t have the syndrome just the cysts!)

Yes, I got pregnant twice with PCO. Unfortunately, both of them were ectopic and I lost both my tubes.

Less than six months the first time, and a bit longer the second, I would say one year but was travelling a lot therefore not trying each month.

Perhaps it is not due to PCO. Have you (and your partner) had the usual GP test done? Did they refer you for a sub fertility clinic for further investigations?

I don’t know your story but there are unfortunately a lot of people classed as “unexplained”. The problem is that we know so little about how the human body works and everything that is not obvious is very difficult, if not impossible, to diagnose

Now into the IVF craziness. First round I had a lot of empty follicles but got ten eggs (and four embryos) in my second cycle — totally relating with your story. Finger crossed for you!

Hi lovely, I also have PCO, without the syndrome. Unfortunately I never managed to get pregnant on my own, and had to do IVF. We did also have some small issues with my boyfriend's sperm and were officially classed as unexplained infertility as they didn't think my PCO was severe enough to stop my falling pregnant 🤷🏽‍♀️ Doesn't seem that way to me though when we tried for years!

I had a fresh cycle before Christmas which sadly ended in an early miscarriage at 6 weeks and I'm currently 11 weeks pregnant from a frozen transfer, so overall our treatment was very successful and we were very lucky to have it work 2nd time (assuming nothing goes wrong from now on!) I have to say if IVF is something you need to consider it really isn't that bad as a process!

In my opinion it feels great just to be doing something! It made me feel really proactive. It is a massively long process though, we started our investigations back in early 2017 x

I’m the same as a couple of other ladies on here. I have PCO but they said my symptoms weren’t severe enough for it to be PCOS. I have a cycle between 30-34 days with a shorter luteal phase than normal and I was also having lots of brown discharge up to a week before my actual period. However my hubby has multiple sperm issues so they referred us to ivf for that reason rather than my issues so I have no idea whether I could have gotten pregnant naturally if he didn’t have those issues.

Are you in the UK my lovely? If so, go back to your GP and say you want to be referred to a fertility consultant. They should then begin to conduct blood tests etc. I was told I have polycystic ovaries (without the syndrome) but was diagnosed with unexplained infertility because they didn't feel the cysts could be impacting. Had three failed rounds of IVF and then conceived naturally - I can't confirm anything scientifically but am certain the drugs kicked things into action for me x
