Hi everyone, I was wondering if it was normal to have a frozen day 6 blastocyst transfer on the 7th day of progesteron? Anyone had their transfer on day 7? I thought it would be on day 5 or 6 ?

I've had my last two transfers on day 7th day of progesterone....6 full days. I've had a fair few failures and the thought behind it is that perhaps my implantation window is a bit later than normal. I got a BFP on last one although we lost the pregnancy at 6wks but first ever BFP on our 5th! Good luck.xx

Hi Cinderella5, hope you dont mind me asking but did you wait for a period before having your FET? I can be irregular so had to take medication to bring a period on. My first FET failed, just wondering if my implantation window was missed due to my period basically being forced on x

I did wait for a period, this was at my request as I dont like the drugs used to induce a bleed. However if you are in a medicated or semi medicated cycle your whole cycle is kind of fake if you like. The meds to build your liking usually stop ovulation so you need to introduce progesterone to prepare your lining for embryo transfer. So although I didnt have forced bleed it's still the clinic controlling my ivf cycle and what my uterus does etc. Its just that some ladies respond better to being on progesterone longer.xx

Thanks for your reply. I do have periods, but since I started IVF they went a bit all over the place, as have my hormones. Not sure if its stress related. So they did give me the period inducing meds, but thinking for my 2nd FET I am just going to let a period come on naturally. My lining has always been great on it's own. Just wonder whether leaving nature alone this time around will make a difference x

I've seen a few ladies do non medicated cycles but just be wary that transfer needs to be timed with ovulation and if your period is not regular then it may be difficult to do.xx

Ok great. Thanks so much. I am due back to the hospital when my next period arrives, so will talk it all over with them x
