Hi all. As you may remember I posted a little while ago after the birth and death of my IVF baby. We’ve since got information that on the day the baby was born there was no infection however 13 days later there was the presence of bacterial vaginosis. The consultants have said they will monitor me closely next time by scanning my cervix regularly, also by prescribing progesterone pessaries well into week 34/36 of the pregnancy. The only thing now is to get pregnant. I was lucky enough to fall pregnant after the first round of Ivf after NINE years of trying naturally. I’ve had some scares with my womb and thankfully things are not as bad as we thought initially. I’m wanting to restart IVF but just so frightened and apprehensive of the whole process, the stress, the worry (had two massive bleeds) and the added stress now of a premature birth.
To add to this my BMI has gone through the roof but I can lose this. Just worrying about the different scenarios.
Has anyone had two successful IVFS in a row? Or a premature baby and then gone on to have a full term following closer consultant care?
Thank you x

I’m so sorry for your loss. Do you have any issues with your cervix at all being too short or have you had any surgery that’s shortened it? I ask because I have an extremely shortened cervix following a cone biopsy to remove abnormal cells, so I have had an operation to have a TAC fitted - a stitch so high up to keep my cervix closed that it was done through my tummy like a c section. This means my cervix can not open when I get pregnant and will support a baby to full term - I’m also going to have an occlusion stitch placed much lower down vaginally at 12 weeks pregnant to hopefully stop any infection. Just got to get pregnant!!!! Good luck with your next go x
Hiya, no I haven’t had any issues with the cervix, in fact when I was in labour it was still long after three days of full labour. The consultant feels that I should have progesterone pessaries as it will stop my womb contracting and opening too soon. Also, they will offer a cerclage after week 12 if they notice that I need it. I will be monitored and swabbed every two weeks to make sure that things don’t deteriorate. It’s heartbreaking
I don’t have any advice but I hope that your next Ivf is successful. It sounds like they have a good plan to look after you but I know that won’t stop the worry xx
Thank you hun. I really needed to read that. It’s so hard. I completely fell in love with my baby girl. I know people think oh it’s her first cycle (the consultant said too) but we were trying naturally for about 8 years x honestly thanks for your message x
