I found my reason for recurrent miscarriage ๐Ÿ˜” PGD

So, after having my first miscarriage last year (June 18) and my next miscarriage (April 19) both around the 7-8 week mark I found my reason after checking my karyotype (my chromosomes). it turns out I have a balanced translocation, meaning I have all my chromosomes just 2 have swapped bits with each other. Because our bodies are so clever, when an embryo that is affected is put back it recognises its defaults and miscarries. So... on to PGD I go. Anyone here had a successful PGD transfer? I'm just looking for some hope before this long road begins.xxx

Hey, I had PGD for an hereditary condition and Iโ€™m almost 8 weeks after our first transfer โ˜บ๏ธ Feel free to ask any questions. I think the main difference is that you canโ€™t do a fresh transfer as they have to test the blastos then freeze straight away. After that itโ€™s the same as normal IVF. Good luck! Xx

Do you know where you are going to have your pgd? Only many people donโ€™t know you can take nhs funding in certain private clinics and lots of people are told their only option is a large hospital in London. This is just because their genetic counsellors donโ€™t know any different. Message me if you want to know more. Also if you are on Facebook there are some good specific groups on there for folks using said big London hospital for pgd and international groups for BT. X

I had ivf with pgd as I have a genetic condition. I feel very lucky I had 4 embryos biopsied on and 1 embryo was low risk and a good grade quality. I am now 19wks and 4days pregnant with my 1 and only embryo.
