Ec one egg collected

Hi everyone

Hope everyone is keeping well..so I had my EC today not a great news I had 12 follicles but they only found 1 egg let’s see if that’s get fertilitised tomorrow 🙏 need lots of prayer. Is anybody here with the same case ..

I had my EC 2 days ago. They managed to get 10 viable eggs but sadly only 1 fertilized overnight. We’re due back in today for egg transfer but only on the proviso that the one fertilized egg has multiplied overnight 😥 I hope your 1 egg fertilized, that’s all it takes sometimes!

Good luck Ourbaby1. I only got one egg at collection on Monday and had only 2 main follicles as the other 2 never came up. Very disappointing after getting 7 eggs last time (I’m just trying to freeze eggs at this stage). But as they say it only takes one. Fingers crossed for you.

Thanks. I just got diagnosed with severe Endometriosis 2 weeks after this cycle completed, so my journey just got a little more complicated but I am sure it will work out in the end as it is meant to.🤞🙌

When you can you should ask your consultant about what happend. You might have ovulated before egg collection. So perhaps the timing, the dose or the drug was wrong. From 12 to 1 is a huge drop off.

Your eggs could also have been immature, and did not come out from the follicle (this is what happened to me). Good to aks if you need another cycle but finger crossed this one will be the one! 🤞🤞🤞

Yeah, ofcourse that can also be the case. But the trigger can and should push more eggs to maturation....

In my case, it seems that trigger did not trigger enough and in this next cycle we may use a double trigger (which sounds scary, to be honest with you...)

Did they try to aspirate the follicles and were empty? Or the following were simply not there anymore?

Exactly! Sometimes doctors are Conservative with the trigger cause they are afraid of ohss, especially when more than 10 follicles. But sometimes it backfires... Best of luck in your next round!

Indeed, and I am now scared it will happen again because the doctor is adamant that he does not want even a mild OHSS. That means that I will again lose 2/3 of my follicles because the trigger does not mature my eggs 😭

My consultant said he flashed my follicles couple of time but there was nothing apart from 1 follie .. he said I probably didn’t respond very well with my tregger shot .. I m just hoping for the best with one egg 🙏

Bless you, I went through this 12 years ago. It was a shock to the system as I was very young. I did not belong to a platform or know what to do and the 1 successful egg did not implant so you can imagine the impact. From experience, I just want to say be positive, know you are not on your own.. there are thousands if not million women out there in the same boat. I will remember you in prayers but move fast towards any alternative options given. Don't dwell on it, there are many other options with the same result, a Baby. Be happy and thankful for dear life.
