Anyone else taking Clexane? Been on it for a few weeks now and am so bruised and finding it sooo painful. So much more so that any of my other injections. Am trying ice etc but doesn’t appear to be reducing the pain now. 😑 any suggestions ?

Hope u all well xx

I’m on Clexane. I wipe the first drop that comes out after opening it and insert the needle super slowly and then inject super slowly. It helps a bit but unfortunately it is a stingy one. X

Yes super slowly really makes a difference :) xx

Hi. I really struggled with these first time round. Tears in my eyes kinda painful. I found injecting in the thigh just below my groin crease so much more comfortable.

I too bruise easily from the Clexane, have tiny little ones all over my stomach. They do seem to be getting easier but not sure if that's because I know what to expect or because I go super slow, the nurse told me to put the needle straight in and not at an angle xx

Thanks for this good to know from u and others am not the only one. Interesting all the differing advice though. I thought I’d cracked it with the ice but not any more 😑. Oh well will try diff things and go from there or put up with it I guess 😬. Best wishes x

Just remembered she also said not to rub it afterwards if it bleeds because it can make the bruising worse, just dab!! Best wishes to you too, what stage are you at? Xx

Really sorry to hear about your miscarriage,I know how devastating they can be, my first result ended in a MMC, I think it makes you more anxious doesn't it. I wish you the very best for a healthy and happy pregnancy xx

Hi, sadly it is a stingy business

. Have you tried to inject on your lap? Also, do not rub the area after injection. It will reduce the likelihood of bruising. Good luck 🤞

Hi,

I’m on clexane and am also a nurse. Definitely don’t rub the area after you’ve injected as this causes a bruise and also, pinch the skin quite tightly when injecting. Seems to get rid of some of the pain for me, but yes it’s a very stingy injection like no other!

I’m taking clexane too. 20mg injections only bruised a bit, but 40mg have been worse (especially the cheap brand they’ve prescribed recently where the plunger wobbles the needle all over the place 🤨). I’m using an ice pack too. Sometimes they’re fine but others bleed or really hurt! I’m still trying to work out the pattern. I think the ones I do further out to the side of my tummy hurt less?! I’m running out of tummy though...! Good luck x

I’m on it. Initially I bruised really badly but it’s calmed down now. I always use an ice pack until the area becomes numb. It really helps although it still stings.. I’m not bruising as bad these days xx

Thank u Hun. That useful to know. Think the need to leave the ice longer to numb it is a good idea.

Hope u doing well with ur pregnancy still x
