Blocked fallopian tube. I only have one tube anyway.

So I lost my right ovary and tube years ago due to a larger cyst hat twisted my tube and damaged my tube and ovary.

I had a miscarriage last summer and had to have operation and they slightly stretched my tube due to ectopic pregnancy which had the risk of damaging it. I have been unable to fall pregnant since.

Today I has a HSG a dye and xray. The liquid didn't spill out and she said my tube was blocked.

I have a scan and chat with my consultant in one month time and obviously right now the answer is I can't havr any more children.

Is there anything that people have done or taken to help them conceive or is ivf the only option now.

I feel so low and just want a little bit of hope. Counselling can wait. Xx

I really don’t know much about it but maybe there’s a way that your tube can be unblocked? I’m sure lots of women get theirs unblocked but obviously I don’t know if that’s going to be possible for you.. I hope the consultant is able to offer you some answers in moving forward xx

Hi sarah few years ago I find out that my both tubes where blocked. I had laparoscopy and hysteroscopy . Doctor try to safe both tube he open and repair left one but I need to say “by”to the right one ... The only tube I got never blocked since the repair but it never gonna be the “same”I think ...good and healthy. We went through ivf . In my second cycle we have my baby girl . She is 20 months and we being trying to conceive naturally since she was 6months but nothing so we decide to do last third cycle which I start meds 2morrow. X

Yes left one. When I had a operation doctor try to safe both but the right one was to damage that leaving her will have impact to get pregnant so without problems was better to remove her . X

So ive just found it not blocked it's the end that pooling so possibly just outside slightly blocked. But consultant said my tube might be damaged from ectopic last year. Physically to the eye he won't know as it's inside. So I just don't know unless I never fall pregnant. He going to do a op soon to check but if it's looks fine from outside and dye test shows no blockage he is leaving it in. Was your tubes damaged to look at. Is that how they knew. X

Sorry to hear that. Mine seems to had the same problem but on both tube. And low AMH too. Last year had my tube open both end but few months later they blocked again. Nobody seems has the answer why it’s block and block again after opened. Done 1st ivf but failed as nothing to transfer. Waiting for next ivf cycle. Good luck!

Yes I have low AMH too. How long before your tube blocked...?

Sorry, forgot it’s year 2019. First found out mid year 2017, then had it open by surgery (abdominal incision). But then after 6 months or so no natural conceive, had it check again and apparently blocked again but seems only one side. Super frustrating. However, ivf was the only way. Then before start ivf, found out I was low AMH plus fluid on my tube. Ivf treatment started with Gonal 300iu ( high dose) for 4 days, then done ultrasound and only 2 follicles. Because of that, ivf treatment added to another 2 more type injections.

With low AMH, it does has effect with number of follicles develop. I heard DHEA good to take 6 weeks before start ivf which is what I am taking now before start next cycle.

After EC, no idea why they didn’t mature and develop to be fertilize.

Do u get pain wheb your tube is blocked. I've got so much pain. So getting anxious and worried. Seeing consultant March but i don't think I can wait.

For blocked tube, best suggestions by doctor was to tied or clamps it. Unless miracle pregnancy but for me it was impossible. That’s why I want to do ivf and get healthy embryos then freeze it due to low AMH. Then clamps my tube before FET.

Pain only intercourse but only during ovulation week. And also cramps when AF came.

Thanks. Am going to have another op for then to have a look at it to see if they can see any damage as at the moment they can't. Apparently it's look it with dye just outside tube. So now am confused. He thinks mechanisms is damage meaning I only get preg with ivf.

I don’t understand when doctors don’t have a answers . What my doctor said that even if they open and repair they will never gonna be perfect ...and could happen that they may block again and if if there was “liquid “that will effect become pregnant so in some cases is better to remove them depends what stage they r . How low is your AMH level? Xx

When they tested it last year it was 4.2. But they are going to do another load of blood check at pre assessment including the AMH.

It's hard not knowing the answers.. I feel like I will never get them. Xx

A lot of ppl have mention serrapaptase supplement for blocked tube so i started taking it as i have suspected blocked tubes i go for my dye test in a few weeks so fingers 🤞

Hi Sarah. So sorry to hear this. Ocassionally a tube can be opened at the end ti allow drainage of excess fluid, by cutting a cross in it and stitching back the “petals”. Scarred tubes are difficult to fix, as it is micro surgery with no guarantee of success. Often these days, a fluid contained tube is clipped or removed prior to IVF to prevent any fluid leaking into the womb and interfering with a implantation of a developing embryo. No pain usually from a blocked tube, unless it twists. Hope all goes well with your consultation. Thinking of you. Diane

Hello, Sarah. How are you holding up? I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Seems like a tough one. You don't want to consider IVF? I think that could be an ideal way to go. I know, people are a bit skeptical when it comes to assisted conception, in general. However, I think it's a great idea. What did your doctor suggest? It makes sense to take his opinion. If he thinks it's a good option, then you should do it! Better this, than having regrets later in life. Good luck to you. Either way, I hope things work out. Keep us posted on how it goes.
