Hello lovely ladies 😘 I'm back, finally got over the whole report my post thing lol. I hope you all are keeping well. So lovely to see all the recent BFP! And of course so saddened to see the BFN 😞 and even worse anyone who has been through a miscarriage my heart breaks for you πŸ˜“πŸ’”

So I was suppose to start my first ever FET this month, after having a 3 month break after my last failed fresh transfer...I really needed the break. So my period basically went AWOL last month I was due around the 15th dec....well it's only just showed up yesterday! So I've decided to skip this month and start my FET next month, just wanted to get my body back on track and to be honest I've just enjoyed the break away from the crazy and emotional IVF rollercoaster! So I've started taking my folic acid today and time to start cutting back on the booze (we are mid summer here in NZ so plenty of beach, drinks and bbqs! Lol). So trying to get excited for next month...but it's hard with only failures under my belt 😩 but gotta give my last 2 frosties a go! Ya never know!

It's nice to be back and hope you all are doing great on your journey's...baby dust to us all! XxxπŸ˜˜πŸ’•

Nice to see you here :)

The good thing about FET is you can wait until you're feeling 100% so enjoy this time and look after yourself xxx

I'm doing really well thanks, but summer here (Brazil) too and the heat makes the tiredness worse xxx

Oh gosh must get hot in Brazil! Where I live we very rarely get above 30 degrees average is about 25-28 so kinda perfect. Anything over 30 can piss off lol that's too hot! Xx

Thank you, well Im not quite there yet. Have some lovely triple lined images of my lining but still only around 6.9mm/7mm and my clinic are pretty fussy for thickness. Waiting to hear back from them on what I should do next.

Ahhhh heat, sun, beach and booze....my idea of heaven!! I have none of those things apart from my hot water bottle and central heating for warmth, bloody Scotland...actually we do have the sea and sand but far too cold for that. Ha ha haxx

Oh no that sucks transfer womt be cancelled? What do they normally want it around 8mm or more? I've never had an issue with lining in fact my clinic have never even told me what mine is just that "it's looking great"

Oh it has been heaven and I'm not working at the mo...just to rub it in a bit more!! 😜 but hey when it's your summer we will be cold in our non central heating homes! Ugh xxx

To be honest my lining always looks great but its never that thick. My old NHS clinic do my scans and they were saying they would go for it at that level and that it was beautiful. I got the go ahead at around 7.3mm last time so maybe....I suspect I will just get kept on estrogen for a little longer and rescanned next week....should hear soon enough.xx

Oh fingers crossed come on lining!!! I'm so confused when it comes to FETs...all I'm going to be on is prognyova? Then pessaries just before transfer. I thought transfer has to be done at a certain time at, or just after ovulation? Or does the prognyova sort that? It all just confuses me and some ladies are on all these other drugs to down reg? Dont even know what that is. Lol. Sounds like I'm having a sort of natural FET yet my doc called it medicated? Who knows I'm confused lol πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ xxx

Im only on progynova unil pessaries. A complete natural FET is done in time with your natrual cycle, no drugs and timed with ovulation so your own body produces natural hormones. When you take progynova this stops ovulation, or meant to so it takes the stress out of things and you can take it for up to 3 weeks (as there is no ovulation) before you introduce progesterone (which mimics your own body producing progestertone after ovulation). Be glad you dont have to down regulate, its makes you feel crap. So you'll be doing same as me "medicated" or as some call it "semi medicated".xx

Hmm ok thanks that makes sense I guess. When you say "so your own body produces natural horomones" is that just progesterone? I always thought with fet the embryo needs to be implanted in sync with ovulation but you saying there is no ovulation? Well yes my doctor didnt even mention anything about down regulate it was either the prognyova or completely natural. Wonder why I was only given these 2 options? Xx

Well you have your own hormones as in lutenising hormone which creates ovulation and which in turn makes you produce progesterone naturally so once you start on the progesterone your body thinks it has ovulated if that makes sense. Clinics all seem to operate differently but those are the best two options out there in my opinion so dont worry about it too much!xx

Ahhhaa right ok that makes sense now! ask me anything about a fresh cycle and I got it covered! Haha. Thanks for clearing that up I was so confused lol. Well I really do hope you get your transfer soon, do keep us informed xxx

Flipside of that is public transport in 36Β° heat, so don't be too jealous hahaha

Oh gosh doesnt get that hot here thank God! Lol and our public transport is mostly air conditioned πŸ˜‰

MissSaoPaulo profile image

36Β° yesterday!!

Your FET sounds like what I did - no downreg and started progynova day 2 of cycle and progesterone on around day 10 after lining scan. The progynova suppresses your own ovulation so it's easier for the clinic to schedule transfer to suit them (and you). I found the progynova fine but the utrogestan made me feel homicidal hahaha and really hungry!!!

Niki_B profile image
Niki_B in reply to MissSaoPaulo

Oh good I'm glad not really any side effects from prognyova...as doing stimms (gonal f) use to drive me bat shit crazy!! The utrogestan I find ok but yes omg starving constantly and can never get full! But yes FET sounds soooooo much easier both mentally and physically my doc said only one scan and blood test too that's bloody awesome! 😊 xxx

I found the moods and hunger settled after about a week of taking it (happily, because I was on it until last week!!)

I had to have a blood test for zika - it's the law now here, before you can transfer. The joys of living in a tropical country!!

Yeah and my boobs go enormous just something else to mess with our heads in the 2ww!! Lol

Oh yes of course you would have to luckily we dont have that worry here as New Zealand is not considered tropical even tho our winters are very mild. Xx
