Chances of successful Ivf...?

Hi ladies

Hubby and I will be embarking on an ivf referall as soon as we can get the pre tests done . In my ccg I am only entitled to 1 round :-/

I have stage 4 endometriosis and have had an extensive lap to remove as much as possible.

This is a pretty hard and vague question but does anyone know rough statistics regarding live birth rates from ivf? Any help appreciated thanks x

I think a lot of clinics publish these as it’s different by clinic, by age group etc

What I would say is for every person who is consistent with averages another isn’t - there doesn’t seem to be a hard and fast rule. And even if you discovered you had a 1 in 100 chance of conceiving (not real number!!) then you are just as likely to be that 1 as the other 99. I really do think there is an element of luck involved

Good luck with your treatment xx

You can find stats for every clinic at the Hfea website and if you dig deep enough you can find some quite detailed data like their success rates with certain types of condition as well as ages. It won’t be completely recent though as it takes time to be collected.

Honestly, speaking this is a very broad question. Every clinic has a different stat for it. So you won't really get an idea. Other than this good luck with your process! I hope things go well for you. Just make sure to visit a clinic that has a high success rate of the process. A clinic that is experienced will for sure help you. Sending baby dust your way.

My clinic has an 83% chance of a live birth after 3 complete ivf cycles. I have endometriosis and I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant after my 3rd round of ivf so it can be done. Good luck xxx

I'd imagine that statistic is for a range of women under 35, with no health issues).

The best IVF success rates in the UK don't get live birth results like that for everyone (maybe BFP result, but not live birth).

But great news on your own pregnancy

Hi Penny, congrats on the pregnancy! Would you mind PMing me the name of your clinic? Xx

These stats will be available via your clinic, different clinics have different success rates. The HFEA website will have that info for you. Good luck Xx

I have no idea about general statistics but your situation sounds very similar to how mine was. I have extensive endo, had surgery for it last April, and then was approved for one NHS funded ISCI cycle, which we did in October. I am now 12 weeks pregnant! So it can happen! Best of luck with your journey. X

Hi! I hope you are doing well. The chances of successful IVF really depend on the clinic you are opting for. It also depends on the type of IVF you are opting for. Just take good care of yourself and stay healthy then everything will have more chances. Good Luck!

Hi

There are stats out there but every clinic is different. I've recently had a baby in a hospital in which I was given a 5% chance. Don't get to hung up on the figures xx
