Treatment buddies?.. start down regging around 21st Jan

So had appt yesterday and were good to go.. we offically start down regging on my next period and then start ICSI short protocol in February time.. super excited!

Anyone else having treatment around this time?

I’ve just stared the drugs for my treatment today! So u can be a treatment buddy👍👍. Good luck to us both. Am nervous about doing all the drugs again especially as got more injections. It needs must a ☺️👍🙌🏻

Hopefully I can follow you in late Feb if OHs test results come back better in next tests. It will be our 1st attempt at ICSI. Good luck ladies xx

Hi, I'm expected to be starting my down reg on the 21st of January too. I'll be starting the menotrophin injections. All depends on how I respond to the drug I'm on now. Wishing you all the best! It's nice to feel like I'm not alone in this xx

How exciting. Hope it goes well and look forward to hearing your progress stories. We are considering icsi but probably around march or April as i havent got rubella immunity so need to get jab and wait for results. Also kinda procrastinating as want to prepare my body for it and give it best chance..and probably also secretly putting off in far fetched chance it will still happen naturally and save us 7 thousand. Not getting any younger tho and with low amh and poor sperm its not likely.

Have you had icsi before? How do they know if you're good to go...do they do tests? Sorry...only recently found out about our fertility challenges so dont know that much.

Hiya.. yeah so the reason were doing ICSI is because my husband has azoospermia (zero sperm count) but they were able to surgical retrieve sperm.

All my results came back clear (like immunities, STDs etc) and my hormone levels (AMH) are good so thats why we are good to go now .

This will be our first cycle.. hope things go well for you xo

Hi, we were due to start over Christmas but decided to give it one last shot naturally so if that doesn’t work I will start the tablets this month. January seems like a very busy month for us all.

Let’s hope this year is the one for us all x

Hi all. How are you all? How’s it all going? I finished my Norethisterone tablets on Friday and patiently waited for my AF to come on so I can go for my baseline scan to start my meds - fingers crossed! My medication was delivered to my house last Friday. I got awful cramps during the night on Sunday but only spotting yesterday but I decided to book my appointment and half day at work so I was ready! The clinic I go to is not near where I work so it’s a juggling act! Thankfully my AF has come on today (never been so happy to get my AF) so it’s all worked out. Nervous and excited at the same. Hopefully all will be well and I can get started on the injections this week. xx

How u funding the down reg? U on injections or nasel spray. Am doing injections which getting used to now though this morning it was painful 😐

That good to be ready for appointment etc. How far u gotta go to urs? Must be hard when not that close.

I was fine on the tablets apart from a couple of headaches but I have had really bad cramps since starting my AF, similar to when I was a teenager! I guess it’s the hormones doing their magic. ☺️

Yes, only injections. Evening ones to begin and then morning ones too. My AMH was at the lower part of the threshold so they are putting me on the maximum stimulation. How are you finding the infections so far? Are you taking nasal spray too or just injections?

The clinic is in London so about an hour and half from where I live on the train. The whole team there seem brilliant so far so I think it’s worth it. Do you have to travel far to your clinic?

Interesting too how same treatment can be diff in diff areas🤔. I did the tablets then started the burserlin injections every morning for last week too. Continue these til my scan next Tuesday and then will look to start my stims so yeah all good fun.

I know what u mean re the af mine def worse cramps this time too. Lovely hormones a but all good if it working.

Yeah side effects not too bad at mo it usually the stims where I feel it as I over stimulated last time.

Am off work with flu today too so all good fun.

Luckily we not too far from our clinic and can arrange work so am quite close only 30 mins away so yeah pretty good. We in Bristol.

It is really interesting how they tailor the treatment for each person and use different combos at different clinics.

Sorry to hear you experienced over stimulation last time. Hope it’s all okay for you this time. That’s good you don’t live too far away from your clinic.

My appointment was a bit of a mixed bag today. My scan all went well and she said I am ready to start my treatment which was good.

The nurse I saw to talk through my treatment plan said my thyroid level was a bit high. It’s 3.06 which is within the normal range according to my GP but apparently for fertility/getting pregnant/staying pregnant it ideally needs to be under 2.5. The way she delivered this news was quite blunt (I got the impression she was having a busy day as she was 25 minutes late to see me). I asked if this mean may there was a delay to my treatment and she said there shouldn’t be she would check with the consultant and let me know tomorrow whether I needed to go on some other medication. She left me a voicemail to say the consultant wanted me to go on some medication but my phone had run out of battery so when I tried to call back it was too late. Quite worried now as keen to get started with the stimulation! Have you experienced this? xx

Hello 👋 How are you all? Hope you’re all okay and keeping warm. It’s freezing out there today!

I started my stimulation injections (Fostimon and Merional) last Thursday evening and started Cetrotide injections yesterday morning. Side effects include tiredness, a bit headachey and also get a bit itchy round the injection site after I do my Cetrotide injection but only for about an hour. Find a hot water bottle helps. Has anyone else experienced this?

Had a check up scan and blood test on Sunday. The clinic said I have six follicles developing on the right side and two on the left side but the left ones are very small at the moment. They also said my lining was looking good so far. I was so relieved as I was so nervous.

Got another check up and scan today. Fingers crossed everything is looking okay. 🤞

I'm So happy for you! It's nice that everything is going to plan.

I was scheduled to start yesterday but scans showed that my lining was too thick! I've been advised to stop using the nasal spray and switch to injections next month after my next period. We were disappointed but hey what can you do??

Got the day to myself today so going to treat myself to some shopping and TV, hopefully will feel better after. Xx
