Last time I posted, Thomas was at home and we were waiting for Matthew to follow. All Matthew needed to do was continue to feed and grow. The hospital were increasing his feeds more and more but quite aggressively and he began to not tolerate them. One Saturday morning in October, we received a phone call from the hospital to say that Matthew's abdomen had distended so severely that they needed to put him on a ventilator and transfer him to a tier 3 hospital for potential urgent surgery. So far, one of the worst calls of my life.
Long story short, he needed a triple hernia repair and they thought that had fixed the problem. After nearly 4 weeks, he was then transferred back to our local hospital and within 48 hours he was discharged. After having him home for just 10 days, we could see his abdomen has grown again and his breathing looked slightly odd (tucking in under the ribs). We took him to A&E to be checked a few weeks back and he was admitted. The Consultant surgeon said that the previous hospitals hadn't actually got to the root cause of the problem and he needed to have a stoma to bypass his colon. He had the surgery and then two days later the bit next to the stoma prolapsed so he had to have emergency surgery to correct it. He got weighed yesterday and he had effectively not put on any weight in 5 weeks🤕I'm really hoping he turns a corner soon as I'm starting to get really worried. 😪 At 13 weeks old he's just under 1.8kg.
Thomas is thriving and doing really well which is great!

That little boy is one massive fighter!!! I was just thinking of your boys just the other day and I was wondering how they were doing. Gosh poor Matthew hes been through so much hasn't he 😥 I'm so glad to hear Thomas is at home thriving! Come on Matthew your parents and brother need you to keep fighting they need you home with them 💕 thanks so much for the update I am thinking of you all and sending Matthew some more fighting healing vibes 💪💪💖💕 xxx

Oh no, you and Mathew have gone through alot. He's such a big fighter. He will survive in Jesus' name. I will keep him in prayers. I wish you well and pray that Mathew returns home very healthy by the grace of God.

Hi Kathy, I am currently 13w pregnant with twins (and to make it worse they are momo twins with 50% mortality rate). I completely understand that you are constantly on alert with twins and it's not easy. I really hope Matthew will be home with you soon x
Both your little guys are amazing. It's wonderful to hear Thomas is doing so well. Matthew has come so far and been so strong. Keep it up Matthew we are cheering you on.

Really hoping Mathew turns a corner for you, sorry to hear things haven’t been going so well. Glad you’ve got Thomas home, you must be exhausted (I’m finding it tiring enough with my 5 week old let alone having to deal with the stress you have) xxx

Hunny I can’t even imagine what you’ve been going through and having a newborn to look after as well, you must be completely wrung out. Matthew sounds like such a little fighter and I hope he starts feeling better soon x x x
