Trying for a baby

PrettyExceptional profile image

Hey ladies, i've been trying for a baby for almost 1 and half year now....i went for further treatmeant and found out that my hormones are not balanced and my bowel is stuck to my right ovary so i got a laproscopy done 1 month back my gynea separated my bowel from my right ovary and she drilled my right ovary to which she said it will help with my ovualtion

To balance my hormones shes told me to drink metformin 500mg with isumax for 3 months then if if i still dont conceive within these 3 months then she will put me on femara (a fertility drug that helps with ovulation)

Is there any lady out there going through this problem plz advice xx

Hey 👋🏻 I’m sorry that your post has been sitting here all day without a response. Sometimes this happens, sometimes it’s because no one here has any experience of what you may be dealing with but I am hoping that Hidden might be able to offer you some advice xx

Hi there,

Sorry to hear of your conceiving issues and that I’m only just replying now. I did see your post earlier and meant to reply.

I think I have quite a few similar issues to you so I can only say my experiences. No luck yet with conceiving (TTC 2 years) and have had two ops but I’m hoping we will get lucky soon or start IVF.

Do you know why you have been put on Metformin? Do you have signs of Polycystic ovaries or did they just want to use it for balancing hormones?

I’ve been given it as I have PCO but not PCOS although most of my hormone results have been pretty normal. I have heard it can have good results though to sort hormones out. I’m convinced my hormones are somehow out of whack as I have endometriosis and Polycystic ovaries.

I have also tried femara and I’ve got another 3 months of it now. It definitely helped give me a stronger ovulation so hopefully will help you too! Think it’s pretty successful (unfortunately the last time I tried it I still had untreated severe endo so didn’t work not surprisingly). My progesterone result was also always higher when taking femara so could be a real positive for you to try that.

Finally, I also have endometriosis by bowel was stuck to my rectum etc. Did you have surgery that completely removed your endometriosis as this is really important for fertility.

Hope it at least helps to hear my experiences with femara. I did try metformin, made me feel horribly sick so I stopped it but the femara was fine.

Good luck any more questions please ask xxx

Thank u very much for your feedback....my gynea has put me on metformin because she wants my hormones to balance and that will also help in ovulation according to her, she has told me to have femara after 2 months of trying with metformin

Luckily i dont have endo neither do i have PCOS so thats why every month when i get my monthly period i cry so much thinking why am i still not conceiving what is it thats wrong

Everyone says stop stressing and thats when u will conceive but i'm not even stressing about it, i guess its all gods plan he knows the best time to give

Well after hearing to your story i can say u are a very strong lady and u have a positive thought about conceiving even after going through all this.....Goodluck i hope u conceive soon xx

Thank you lovely.

I just assumed you had endometriosis as you said your bowel was stuck to your ovary. Was it something else that had done that? I’ve only heard of endo causing these issues.

If you only have imbalanced hormones I’m sure you will get there eventually. Some people just take a bit longer than others and take two years rather than one. Remember there is only a 20% chance a month even for fully fertile couples which is why they say a year average but some may be a bit longer.

Good luck to you too xxx

I was so scared in the start i thought i had endo but my gynea said there were just few cysts on my ovarys that she punctured and a stuck bowel, after separating my bowel from my ovary she also drilled my right ovary which will help with ovulation, now i'm just hoping it works

Thank u xx

I'll try my best....thank u very much😘

Sorry to hear of your struggling to conceive, it’s such a difficult journey. But the ladies here are so supportive 😘

I have had 3 laps to treat endometriosis. (which was only superficial)

It must have been sore having your ovary & bowel stuck together, it’s great the gynae has resolved this issue. Was it endo that caused the organs to stick together? If it was endo I can give you tips on conceiving with endo 😘

It sounds like the right ovary maybe polycystic, hence the drilling to encourage ovulation.

I haven’t used metformin or fermara, so can’t comment on side effects but I did do a round of clomid ( which also helps ovulation too) after my third lap & it worked I’m 9 weeks pregnant.

I know one of the ladies here had success with fermara & hopefully they can advise on fermara.

It’s positive the surgery was successful & you have a plan. I am sure this will bring you closer to your BFP.

It took us over 7 years of TTC but we got there and so will you. You are in a much better place for trying & I am sure it is only a matter of time 😘 You can do this ✨✨✨ xoxo

Thank you for your feedback hun

What my gynea said was that i didnt have endo she also cant tell how my bowel was stuck to my right ovary....she separated the bowel from the ovary it was painful for a few days but after that i got to my daily routine

I had HSG done before my lap and before that i had 3 rounds of clomid aswell but it didnt work so we all thought maybe my ovaries are blocked thats when my gynea suggested i do a lap inorder to see whats wrong but my ovaries were perfectly fine they were not blocked instead the gynea saw the bowel stuck and now i'm praying it works

Congrats on your pregnancy i hope all goes well for u and your give birth to a healthy baby...thank u for the support xx

Thank you.

Endo can stick organs together which is why I asked. It’s very good news it wasn’t endo, because endo can make conceiving more difficult ( not impossible but harder)

I’m sure with this issue resolved & different medication it’s only a matter of time before you fall.

Good luck with the trying 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻😘 xoxo
