Accommodation at Spain.

Hey guys, just looking for some recommendations. I’m going to IVF Spain Alicante 2 weeks before Christmas for DE transfer and was wondering if anyone could recommend any cheap accommodation? Or any advice about where to stay. We will be there for 2 weeks so will be looking for things to do /see also.

Any advice would be amazing.

Thank you!! X

Thanks hun, I’ll look into that. Think their prices have increased due to being so close to Christmas. X

So exciting Zaza1. I can't tell you anything about Alicante at all. However usually the clinics can give you advice on where to stay. They will also potentially have cheap rates at certain places.

We usually get an airbnb in Barcelona for our transfers (3rd one today). Somewhere within walking distance of the clinic and all the sights so we can enjoy tapas and be as stress free as possible.

Wishing you all the best and I am sure lovely ladies on here will be able to advise. Can you say where in Alicante your clinic is?

Xxx

Have you thought about air bnb? We use this for when we go over to Athens for treatments etc as its cheaper and keeps the costs down plus you can do your own thing and we've had good experiences!xx

We had accommodation included into the package price. And the set of other services as well, like meds needed or donor eggs in case own eggs got useless. I'm not of much help here. Just wanted to wish you all the best of luck with your coming DE IVF cycle. We've recently been through ours, ended up successfully. Currently waiting for the 12 wks scan. All the best on your way Xx

That’s fantastic news hun! Congratulations!! X

Hi Zaza1,

We stayed in El Campello using an Airbnb back in April as there were a fair few restaurants there and a lovely beach. Also with a brilliant tram service it was easy to get to the clinic and to many other places.

We are going back again this month and in Dec. We are staying in Alicante in Dec as I think with it being ‘out of season’ there will be more things to do. Enough to keep you busy for a few days at least. When we go this month it’s for tests and will arrive one day and return home the next following. Because of this it’s easiest for us to stay in San Juan, within walking distance of the clinic. There isn’t loads to do (not that we’ve found anyway) but the beach is lovely. We stayed at the Alicante Golf Hotel once before when staying in San Juan. It was okay but I wouldn’t stay there for more than a couple of days.

Hope this helps? If you have any questions I can try and answer them. I am geographically challenged but my husband knows what he is talking about! :-)

Thank you so much for your help hun. We’ve just come back from the consultation and tests. The clinic is amazing!! Are you using IVF Spain?

I’ve looked into the tram and that seems cheap and easy enough to us to get around too. X

Hello I have been to San Juan/alicante 3 times for ivf . It's a lovely place (although I'm at a different clinic) there are a number of places on arbnb. We stayed in San Juan as u can take the tram to alicante very cheaply and loved being beside the better beach. It's a wee bit chillier that time of year and a number of restaurants etc are closed but it's still nice. If u end up staying longer than 2 weeks avoid alicante centre at new year. There are literally thousands of people in the street for the celebrations it's awful u can't move xxx

Thanks for your advice hun! Yes, we will probably use the tram to get around. We should be flying home on 23rd December so hopefully will avoid the busy periods hun. Good luck with your journey! Sending loads of positivity. Xx
