HSG DONE!

Hi Ladies.

I have had my HSG done this morning however I’m a little bit disappointed as I thought I would get the results straight away however I have to wait until I go back on 31st October, I go away for the weekend in two weeks and now I’m really worried I’m not going to be able to enjoy myself as I’ve been worried sick about the results. Please can everyone send me positive vibes!

The procedure itself was fine, I don’t know why I worked myself up. It was over within a matter of a few minutes. I didn’t feel anything apart from period like cramping for less than a minute and then it was over. Is this a good sign? X

Did you see the screen whilst it was being done?

No the screen was behind me.

What did their faces say? Did they say "Good, now can you lean to the right" etc? I am trying to understand if any of their words gave anything away. Maybe if there was something they would have shown and explained on the day? Wishing you all the best xx

I’m not sure. They wasn’t very talkative. The lady before me had to stop half way through and have a break and they started to run behind. My appointment was at 9am I didn’t get seen until 10am. They didn’t ask me to move in any sort of position I just stayed the same position the whole way through. By the time I had the period pain it was over and finished and thank you xx

If the procedure was fine then chances are your results will be fine, at least that’s what I was told at mine. I didn’t get results for two weeks either xx

Thank you! X

Well done for getting through it. Use the next two weeks as practice for trying to let go of things you can’t control. If you worry for the next two weeks and it’s all fine then you’ll look back with regret you didn’t enjoy your weekend away. If the results are not great(which hopefully is not the case) worrying beforehand doesn’t make it easier to deal with. There are so many steps in this journey with so many unknowns-you can get caught up in it all xxx

Thank you, my family has told me not to worry because worrying and stressing can’t change things, just make things worse and stress me out even more. So I’m just going to take each day as it comes xx

Does any of you ladies know if I could call the fertility clinic and ask one of the nurses for the results... the lady who done the HSG said the results should be back within 2 weeks. Or would I have to wait the 4 weeks until

My appt? Xx

I’m surprised they didn’t tell you because they can clearly see on the screen if your tubes are clear or not..I was told mine look fine but I think it was then confirmed again in a letter.

I’m glad it wasn’t painful. Sending you good positive vibes xx

They said the consultant had to look at it. She said the results would be back in two weeks. Do you think I could ring the fertility clinic in 2 weeks and ask if they could give me the results? Or are they not allowed over the phone x

I am so sorry to hear they didn't tell you straight away. After my procedure I was told straight away. In fact the nurse said it's all fine and explained in more details about shape of my uterus and showed me the screen with an x-ray. Doesn't seem fair we are getting different treatment/support on this journey. Stay positive, sending hugs🤗
