Pregnancy symptoms - fluctuations

Hi all

I’m 8 weeks pregnant today and, up until a couple of days ago, was suffering from awful nausea (since about week 6) - to the point that I could barely bring myself to drink water and the only thing I could eat was various forms of potato!

I have felt much, much better in the last couple of days and - as is my way! - am now worried about the change.

I had a really reassuring scan on Tuesday which showed a strong heartbeat and spot on size. For some reason, since the scan I have become really anxious.

Has anyone else had fluctuating symptoms and, in particular, nausea?

I thought I’d be super relaxed if I got a positive 7 week scan but seem to be stressing now about the next 4 weeks up to the 12 week scan. What a rollercoaster!

Im approaching 12 weeks and can say that the sickness is up and down. For example last weekend I couldn’t eat without throwing it up.... then all of a sudden I felt I could eat and was keeping my food down.... I thought yes this is brilliant... and then like a slap in the face the nausea came back again... so I think what your experiencing is totally normal 😊😊

Thank you for your message. The nausea is so grim but I suppose whilst I was feeling it, it gave me reassurance that there were obviously some hormones kicking about! I just need to relax. I hope that things settle now you’re 12 weeks - that seems to be a big turning point. I’m praying for the next 4 weeks to whizz by! Thank you again xx

Try to relax and enjoy being nausea free... im sure it will come back xx

Yeh I’m 11 weeks pregnant and my nausea comes and goes. I’m usually only sick once a week but have nausea every day but last 3 days I feel good, but other symptoms are there - tiredness (that’s the killer for me!) boobs sore and very emotional. Relax and enjoy being not sick x

It’s normal for it to fluctuate a bit and it will probably come back with a vengeance. Are you still really tired? As that’s also a symptom, it doesn’t have to just be nausea. Also some people wee a lot! Having said that, if your symptoms stay away then, in your shoes I would get a private reassurance scan in a week or so - they’re not too expensive and you can quite often get them on groupon deals.

Exactly the same here hun. My nausea comes and goes, more so since my early scan which is making me worry! Just like you all was spot on with baby, strong heartbeat, measuring great and I was upbeat and reassured for about a day. Now my anxiety is through the roof, worse than before my scan. I have got another scan a week tomorrow to check on the empty sac so hopefull I’ll be feeling reassured again.

If I feel totally rubbish I worry theres a reason behind it, if I’m having a not so bad day I worry that means something is wrong! We are all crazy 😂 xxx

It’s so hard. I managed to put it to the back of my mind yesterday but am stressing again today. It’s such a noticeable difference, I can’t help but assume the worst. We’ve come away for a few days, which I was desperate to do a couple of weeks ago when I was permanently tired and now we’re here I just want to be back in London so I can speak to a nurse. On Tuesday I could only have small sips of coconut water and now I feel completely back to normal. If I was 10 weeks or so, I’d probably be more relaxed but think it’s too early for everything to have settled. I’ll be thinking of you when you have your next scan. I can’t imagine there will be any stage of this pregnancy where I won’t worry! Xx
