Alloimmune testing, anyone had it done?

Hello,

We've just had the results back from our alloimmune tests and apparently my allo-mlr antibody levels are low, this could be the reason for my chemical pregnancy last month. They are 7% and should be above 30. We are speaking to an immunologist tomorrow to see where we go from here. Has anyone else had these tests done? I don't really know what the ramifications will be and I'm really worried! Even Dr Google is not providing much help!

Thank you for reading xxx

I don’t know what this is but have had 3 chemicals in a row so it sounds interesting. Sorry about your chemical, it’s heartbreaking XX

Thank you for replying, sorry to hear about your journey, it's so unbelievably hard to get that result isn't it X

What is it and how did you hear about it?

It's tests our clinic wanted us to do after our last FET ended in a chemical pregnancy

Do you have different blood group to your partner?

Abaco in reply to

Yes unfortunately I have the rarest negative blood type and he is positive. They're testing the embryos chromosomes now. Nothing is ever smooth running is it!

Ahhh, I understand now. After my chemical - as I am neg and he is pos - I was given Anti D which means that I won't have anything working against the embryo due to blood group. I have had that checked so yes, I have had the test you are talking about.

in reply to

Have you had Anti-d at all?

Haven't had the anti-D. I hope you don't mind me asking but when did you have it administered before, during or after transfer? Will mention this to the immunologist thank you X

in reply to Abaco

It was after the managed miscarriage. I was told it is routine to do at epu when they know the parents are different blood types. However, during a full term pregnancy it is usually given at 3rd trimester xx

Hi ya, I haven't had the tests you are talking about regarding my and dh bloods but I have an auto immune illness where my body attacks itself, basically any cells it doesnt recognise my immune system attacks it. (I think the embryo) as i also have had 2 cp' s on my 2 fresh icsi cycles. I am starting long protocol on 10th Sept an my consultant is considering if I get to transfer putting me on a low dose steroid as it dampens the immune system and hoping if this is what caused my cps then the steroid will prevent that.

Thank you for replying, it's horrid to think that something in our bodies is attacking our precious embryos isn't it, I hope your new protocol does the trick for you, should hopefully know tomorrow, when immunologist has had a look at our notes, what our next step is. Very apprehensive to find out!

All the very best to you X

Good luck tomorrow xxx

Could I ask where you got this test done in the UK? It's something I would like to get tested as well

Thank you for the quick reply, I've been doing my ivf over there, so maybe that's why they're asking me to get the tests done. Thanks again!

Never heard of alloimmune testing, and I've been on here a while and also had nk cell tests (mine came back raised so I have treatment to stop nk cells attacking embryos). But alloimmune is a new one for me... And I've had loads of immune tests done..
