Scary brown discharge on 2WW :-( tested this morning and BFP.

Hi all you lovely people. I am currently on the stressful 2WW again. This time, I had a day 5 blastocyst transfer on Saturday 4th August. My official test date isn't until Sunday 19th August. I've been having clear watery discharge since last Thursday. Yesterday morning I had a little brown discharge in the morning when I wiped. Petrified that my period is on the way, I tested this morning with a digital clear blue and got a positive 1-2 weeks pregnant. I know all about chemical pregnancy so I'm not getting my hopes up about he result. Since I tested, more brown discharge has come and it is a lot more than simply spotting. Is it all over? I am currently in work and unable to think about anything else! Any advice or stories - positive or negative ones would be greatly appreciated. Thanks xxxxxxx

It's impossible to say at this stage, but sadly in the 4 previous attempts I had when I transferred a 5 day blastocyst that's the symptoms I got and they all turned out to be negative. That being said I know of plenty who have spotting, or even bleeding, during their TWW who go on to get a positive result. Just try not to stress about it (easier said than done, I know!) you only have a few days left to go to find out. Keeping my fingers crossed for you

I had brown discharge the day before otd (I'm 7 weeks 1 day) and still on and off and it's been over 2 weeks. I would suggest to trying to use the pessaries rectally not vaginally as I found this made a huge difference in out put and read the pesssaries can irritate the cervix. It can also be implantation blood. Brown blood is old blood so try not to worry. Xx

Thank you for the reply. It seems to come and go but this has been a lot more than just when I wipe myself. Time will tell I suppose. It is just such an emotional rollercoaster. I will put my pessary in rectally tonight to see if that makes a difference. However, I'm not feeling optimistic about this cycle. xxxx

My DP had brown discharge a lot in the first trimester, & even had some a couple of weeks ago. She’s 18+1 now. Hoping all will be ok for you. 🤞🏼🍀 How understanding is your employer? Could you maybe get the afternoon off to rest & keep an eye? I don’t imagine you’re able to get much work done anyway! 🙈 xx

Thank you for your reply. I have no clients after 3.30pm today so I intend to go home then. I'm planning to speak to my boss now that I'm on lunch. I always think of spotting as discharge when I wipe. This drown discharge is staining my panty liner.... I am expecting my period before the OTD now. Thanks again xxxx

Are you using pessaries, as these can irritate the cervix & cause discharge also? Don’t lose hope just yet - we were told spotting & discharge is very common in IVF pregnancies, & there is not always an explanation for it. Keeping everything crossed for you! 🤞🏼🤞🏼

I started brown spotting 4 days past embryo transfer, which was 15 days ago, because of the spotting i took a test 4days after transfer and got a vey faint pos, i i have tested everyday since and they have got stronger and stronger to the point now where the second line couldnt physically be anymore stronger and im still brown spotting consistanlty everyday, in the morning its alot heavier then it subsides all day to it just being there when i wipe. My clinic dont seem worried and to be honest im not to concerned now as i feel if the brown spotting was a concern i wouldnt of been getting stronger and stronger tests everyday for 15days! I also did a clear blue last week which said 2-3 weeks its now saying 3+ so im presuming the hormone has raised which is also a good sign! I hope this helps you feel a but more positive i found the testing reassured me bow im at the point where i look rediclous to my family vecause they couldnt be any more obviously postivie maybe you could do the same until scan?xxx
