Gonal f!! Please help!! Panicking!!

I was told today to start Gonal f and that my dose would be 200.

I have 4 boxes, 2 are 300IU and the other 2 boxes are 900IU. I was told that out of one pen, I would get 4 injections.

Have I done the right thing by setting the dose to 200 on the 900IU pen? Or should I have used the 300IU?

I don’t think it matters which pen you use first, I had a lower dose but I just used whichever box I took out of the fridge first. Which ever way round you use them your going to get the same amount of injections. Lots of luck x

Thank you. I’ve been panicking. At first I didn’t even notice I boxes were different. The nurse never said she just said 200 is my dose x

What does the IU bit mean? One box says 1.5 ml and one is 0.5.. x

The IU means international units. It just means how many units of drug are in an amount. So there are 300 units in half a mls of drug (0.5) and 900 units in 1 and a half mls of drug (1.5). Hope this helps x

Both sizes of pen have the same concentration of drug in them so it shouldn’t make any difference which you use first. As long as you give what the clinic has advised you will be fine. Good luck x

Hi, I had these and it doesn't matter which pen you use first. If your dose is 200 you'll get 4 injections out of the 900 pen and have 100 left over. So you'll have to Do 2 injections one time with 100 from each pen if that makes sense

That's right set the dose to 200 each time, that's the number you should see in the little window.

You'll do the first 3 injections and then only have 100 left. Keep that 100 as when you've done the next 900 pen you'll have 2 pens left with 100 in so that makes up a 200 dose, unfortunately that day you have to have 2 injections xx

I was always told to use the 900 pens first as you may respond better than expected and not need as much. That way you may still have a 300 pen untouched left over. So, if this cycle doesn't work for whatever reason you may still have a pen left. (Obviously my fingers are crossed for you in this round) 🤞🤞🤞
