How do I have a full bladder?

I am going to do transfer at 8:45 and it requires a full bladder. How do I manage to reach a full bladder by that time? Could anyone give me some advice?

Hey Jenny! If you drink 4 glasses of water one hour before your transfer that should be fine & good luck xx

I had my transfer today...so I pee'd an hour before and drank some water (probably only 250ml) on my journey to the hospital. They asked me if I felt like the urge to pee, I just said I didn't know 😂 they then scanned to check if my bladder was full (which it was). If it wasn't they would simply have told me to drink more water and wait a bit. Don't worry you'll be fine xx

I just drank soon as i woke up and made sure i had about one or one and half pints of water an hour b4 i went so it had time...

I had a pint of water - but depending on your waiting time at the clinic bring a water bottle with you (they might have water there though).

I drank so much and they made me wait ages for my appointment so had to pee and fill up again!

That might just be me though and my weak bladder 🤣

I had the same issue, transfer was an hour late and then the nurse had to really press down with the scanner - so you can imagine! xx

Hi Jenny usually clinics will specify amounts and time. I usually get there an hr before and pee on arrival then drink the specified amount about 45 mins before (it’s not exact so don’t worry) if I started drinking when they told me i’d never make it to transfer and I was told in one of my transfers to empty my bladder as my uterus was inverted. If you have an excellent Consultant they know what they’re doing. Good luck and don’t worry x

Thank you for sharing your experience. The clinic didn’t tell me what amount of water to drink. They just asked me to have breakfast.

That probably means once they get you there they’ll instruct you as to the amount, that’s what happened to me xxx

You’ll have no bother at all. A few glasses of water and you’ll probably be absolutely bursting for the loo by the time you’re done. Very best of luck for your transfer xx

Thank you all. It’s done now. The doctor was late for 20 mins. I became so desperate for a wee. I think if it had delayed for another 5mins, I might have wetted myself.

A pint of water an hour before! That's what I did. Don't have more than that though - trust me! Your bladder will get painfully full! Hope the transfer goes well xx
