Septum in uterus?

Does anyone of you have also a septum in the uterus (septate uterus)? If yes, did the clinic suggest to remove it? If someone had a surgery like this, was it successful to get pregnant and stay pregnant?

I have a septum in my uterus and as of 2 natural conceived early msc and 3 chemical pregnancy (2 of them with IVF), the clinic mentioned a removal of the septum as of these msc. However, it is not ensured it will help as msc might also happened as of my age of 40. Further, I have a daughter (nearly 5yrs) who I could have even with my uterus. It is very difficult to decide whether to do the surgery or not.

Thanks for your help. Xx

Thank you 😊 xx.

Another lady just posted about this too and I shared the story of my friend who had a miscarriage and a still birth then had her heart shaped uterus corrected and then had two healthy children. It was worth doing for her.

Thank you! It is good to know that a surgery can help and might be successful for a positive outcome. X

Hi Chris,

I have a septate Uterus too. I had two surgeries to fix it but just had another mc so the doctor thinks it grew back a little and I need a third surgery.

Have you had any success yet?

Hi! No luck yet. But I didn’t do a surgery as there will be a scar afterwards which wouldn’t be helpful to get pregnant or stay pregnant. As I already have a daughter, the docs we’re not sure this was the problem for me. I guess my age is against me. After 5 failed transfers, we are considering DE but haven’t decided yet as we have already a daughter. And I am at the end of my energy with all this; trying so hard but only disappointments along the way.

I wish you all the best with the surgery and for the journey afterwards 🤗.
