Hi ladies,

On Sunday I started my first injection on a short protocol, but I was just wondering if anyone has any tips/advice on what foods to eat/avoid?

Pomegranate juice, lots of protein, milk, low caffeine Intake, no alcohol and just have everything in moderation xxxx

I was told zero alcohol and caffeine and just a healthy balanced diet. I have a thyroid issue so I also make sure I have 3 Brazil nuts a day and selenium is supposed to aid implantation...not sure I believe any of the old wives takes though...pineapple core etc. A good prenatal although I take zinc with copper, magnesium, folic acid of course and vitamin d 500mg. I know zinc is v important in Fertility for both men and women xxx

Good luck with your cycle! I tried a low carb (but not low calorie) diet, as it has been shown to improve success rates by quite a lot in some small studies. I thought it was worth a punt and I got a positive result. I'll never know if it was that or just luck, but I am glad I tried it! It was basically restricting carbs to just one portion a day (of cereal, potatoes, pasta, noodles, bread, rice etc). I actually did my best to avoid wheat as they don't know whether this diet works because of reduced gluten (from reduced carbs) or whether it is the carbs in themselves and sugar levels spiking. A few UK clinics are actually advocating for all IVF patients to eat this diet (men too!) I ate loads of chicken and fish (very little red meat) and loads of vegetables, fruits and full fat dairy. I snacked on lots of nuts, fruits, boiled eggs, humous. It was actually a lot easier to do than I thought it would be, although took a bit of time for preparation. I also cut out sugar and avoided caffeine and alcohol entirely. I just didn't want to look back and think 'was it because of X that I didn't get pregnant?'

Wishing you the best of luck with it all xxx

organic milk and meat. Lots of eggs and avocado, no alcohol, de caf tea and coffee. I had Accupuncture too. Nuts and lots of veg. Not been quite so good since getting BFP, when morning sickness struck I had ham and cheese sandwiches almost every day as it made me feel better. Good luck xx
