how long can you be false positive

Morning Ladies

How long after trigger shot would you say you could get a false positive result ?

lets say If I tested now 14 days after trigger shot / 12 days after egg retrieval / 7 days after transfer and it would be positive... could this still be a false positive... I am aware there could still be a false negative - but how about the other way round...

you can tell I am getting impatient......

Hi Silvanti. I tested at 6dp5dt and got a positive and then tested every day and they were all positive. I'm 5 weeks 2 days now. However, some people said it was too soon at 6dp transfer and when I phoned the clinic at 11dp the nurse was very stern and dismissive and said my first test was not viable and she wouldn't even accept my positive at 11dp!!! Personally I would say the trigger is definitely out of your system by now! And I think more possible than not, it's a definite positive.. Have you took a test? But I think to be on the safe side test at the earliest at 9dp or wait until they've said 🤪 xx

Hi Michelle

I have moved my blood test to Friday midday which would be a 9 days past a 5 day transfer... normally should be saturday but they are closed and I am not able to wait till tuesday... ( I would test the second time then ) I started spotting ( well some brown ish stuff down below / sorry TMI ) and today should have been my menses... so I paniced and took a clearblue... I am not able to trust the result yet lol.. and yes I got more tests... I am actually ok testing 7DP5DF for a first (IVF / ICSI) timer.

I am actually sh*** myslf now lol

I think that's wise moving it as you would only start thinking it was not a true positive! I'm pretty sure a blood test on Friday will give you an accurate result. The brownish stuff is just old blood, so I wouldn't worry about that. 😊

It's such an anxious time, I feel your pain lol. GOOD LUCK xx

Oh no, why??

Trigger shot will be well and truly out of your system within 10-12 days but to be ultra safe a full 14 days post transfer will give you 100% accurate results. Good luck xxx

Your leaflet that came with the trigger shot should tell you how long it stays in the body, check if you still have it or find it online if not. But to be honest I would stay away from the tests, there are so many stories on here of unreliable results, including chemical pregnancies, which is a disappointment I always thought I would prefer to avoid.
