Hello everyone,

So following my ectopic pregnancy and realisation that IVF is going to be our only way to have a baby, I really struggled to accept this. I began to realise that everyone on here, and other people who may be struggling with fertility who don't know about this, are the strongest people I'll ever know. You. You, if you are reading this and know how it feels to struggle, you are a hero. A hero for getting up, a hero for keeping on going, for fighting for your dreams. Healing your scars again and again and keeping those heart breaking and inexplicable emotions inside of you. All those times you wonder why you, and what now. Nobody truly stops and realises. Nobody really looks at you and says, you've been through so much, and I'm so sorry for that, but wow, you are incredible. Because you are, truly incredible. Keep going, you will get your dreams how ever you need to, and keep loving every moment of this precious life.

X

And to you too Kirsty! I had to have both of my tubes removed due to ectopics in both. They weren't removed directly because of them, but they were both damaged and as a result I was diagnosed with hydrosalpinx in both, so for me to move into ivf they had to be removed. At the time I remember feeling like I'd had some vital organ removed, but I knew I'd continue with ectopics if I kept them, so I understand how your feeling. Don't look back, just look forward to the future and what it holds for you xx

Thank you for your lovely reply. I am about to embark on IVF, but need my right tube removed first and it's swollen with fluid. Just hoping my ovarian reserves are okay after it as one of my ovaries is under developed. I hope IVF is going okay for you, sending you lots of luck xxx

Thank you Kirsty, it shouldn't effect your reserves in any way, and I started my first stimming cycle 2 1/2 months after my op, so all moved pretty quick! I was in agony with the pain with my right tube and when they removed it they found a 5cm cycad growing off it 😱as soon as I woke from the op I knew that dull but sharp pain had gone and must have been the cyst causing the pain. You'll be just fine, and I have a friend who conceived naturally with one tube and one ovary on opposite sides!! Amazing what your body can actually do when it needs to! Xx

What a wonderful post. I honestly don’t know where you all get our strength from. My daughter amazes me every day as all of you, men and women do. When you see the light at the end of the tunnel it is all worth it believe me. It’s a very hard journey but it’s a worthwhile one. You are all brilliant xxx
