We are meant to be doing our donor FET in 4 weeks. I am on the contraceptive pill just now, only for 3 weeks, and I’m not due to finish till next Tuesday then once withdrawal bleed comes maybe next Thurs/Fri couple days after stopping pill I would start Progynova for uterine lining...but no right on cue my period has come a full week early (2 weeks early in terms of natural cycle but 1 week early in terms of pill). Don’t know what to do!! I did email clinic to ask and they said monitor over next couple days but they can’t start me on Progynova early as it won’t line up with our booked travel dates (to Greece). Has anyone experienced this before, if I keep taking pill till next week, will I keep bleeding as expected (get another “period”) or will this be my only bleed, and what does that mean for the meds and cycle?? Freaking out a little. Top it off I’m at my brother’s till Sunday, 400 miles from home 😫

I had to take the OCP before my current IVF cycle. I started to bleed early but it stopped after a day so my nurse said it’s just breakthrough bleeding and it’s totally normal. It happened twice. Then when I stopped on the day I was told to I had a full blown period start two days after. Hope that helps xx

I tell you what; it’s loads easier dishing out the advice on here than it is taking it... i think it’s always worth remembering that you won’t be the first person the clinic has had to deal with who has been through this and you won’t be the last.
I looked back over my first journey and my period after I came of the pill was light and short. It didn’t effect my lining and apparently the dr at the time said it would be a good thin lining to start with.

Well I was just going to bed, late one up catching up with bro and sis in law. But then barely slept as it’s getting heavier. You are totally right I am not the 1st, I think I am more stressy (this sort of thing normally wouldn’t have worried me) because it’s FET and abroad. I am hoping they say maybe just bring transfer date forward a day or 2 if I have to start Progynova a few days earlier than planned. x
Make sure you email them and let them know how you’re getting on. Also, it might help if you ask them if they’ll be closed over their Easter break or able to respond. Knowing there’s a response coming is half the stress gone sometimes xx
Oh what a worry for you lovely! Its hoepfully just a little breakthrough bleeding and wont affect your cycle. So hard when things dont go to plan! Hopefully you hear something back from one of the coordinators at your clinc, rubbish timing with it being the Easter holidays over there! Cant really help much with advice, did you have to down regulate or anything to shut your natural cycle off? Sending hugs xx

Ahhh, I was gonna say my period came early but it didnt matter as I'd been down regulated. Arrgghhh stressfull! Hopefully you hear back soon. xx

Every time I started a new pill I got break through bleeding. I hope it stops soon so it doesn’t ruin your dates x
Hi WeeMrsH, I hope you've managed to get some answers from your clinic. On my first frozen attempt I was on progynova, so didn't have the pill, but I started my period 2weeks after my last period. The clinic said it could be break through bleeding but when they scanned me they realised it was another period 🙄 that cycle got cancelled, and took me another 3 attempts to get to transfer due to lining issues. Turns out my body doesn't like being overloaded with too much fake oestrogen and when I was left to do a more natural cycle with me round ovulation sticks etc it was for more successful lining wise for me.
I hope it is just a break through bleed for you, but if not don't be too disappointed. I was gutted when my fresh DE cycle was cancelled, and even the months that followed I thought we'd never get there but eventually we did and in that time I just concentrated on losing weight and lots of dog walks! Xx
Just looked through my previous posts and I was on the pill to tally me up with Donors cycle. How did I forget that! I had weight gain within days of being on the pill which was my reason for posting! Xx
Oh gosh!! I hope this isn’t the case for me, clinic never mentioned any possibility of this. This is 2 weeks after my last period too!!! It is easing so hopefully just a 2 day breakthrough. How could your clinic tell from scan it wasn’t breakthrough and was your period? x
Bloody weight gain I ate like a horse and still am... ah well will make the most of it this weekend as back to shape as of next week. Someone say slim fast shakes and fruit 🤦🏽♀️
Ps the bleed miss wee should simmer down, try not to worry which is probably Balt a joke that’s all this journey is 🙁
